Default 05 zzr600 good choice or what? (looking for frame sliders and accessories too)

It looks like i am deciding on the zzr600 after passing on the r6 and coming down to the YZF600R (which seems to be more popular than the zzr600) and the zzr600. This would be a second "first" bike. My first bike was an 01 zr750s, didn't think it was too sporty looking and it had some problems so i went out looking for a brand new bike with a warranty. The zzr look to be sportier looking, a nicer color and not as heavy as the YZF. I am looking for frame sliders and a fender eliminator and or tail light conversion (never did like the kawai tail lights) for the new 05, i have read that 01-02 accessories fit the new 05, is this correct? Also my buddy has a 98 katana 600 and other buddy with a 92 kawai zx6r how will this new 05 bike compare to the 2 in performance? Thanks.

U need to get the ZZR600 05' I was at the bike shop when i had the YZF and the ZZR to choose from. YZF weighs about 60lbs more(give or take) and has less power. Sales guy told me to get the zzr even though it was 3oo$ cheaper. The YZF felt bulky to me. Maybe i'm one sided cause i got the ZZR.

How long have you ridden the Zr750? Have you put many miles on it at all? The ZZR600 should be a great bike, becuase the 00-02 ZX-6R that it's based on was a good bike. It has more comfort than most other current 600s but still very good performance. The problem is if you don't have a lot of riding experience, it may be a bit more bike than would be optimal. Anyway, it is a much faster bike than any of your friends bikes, but if they're better riders they'll smoke you in the corners anyway. BTW, the 92 ZX6 can't possibly be a ZX6R cause they didn't exist until 95. It's a ZX6D.

I had a 99 zx6r and now have a 07 zzr. pretty much the same bike.

    LOVE IT!!

fender kit, no problem, you can make one yourself (if you would like) for 15 bucks and a little time

and just intergrate the tail lights for about another 10-15

now for sliders is the real question. they make some cheap no cut ones but I do not like the because the bolt it to small and weak. R & G makes probably the best sliders for this bike but the are a little pricing. then again one fairing broke would be much more than the sliders.

    hope this helps.

I picked up an 07 ZZR600 (new rider) and it's been pretty sick! No complaints. I bought it slightly used with fender eliminator and low profile turn signal mods already completed.
