Default 2005 zx-6r (636) fuel problems

ok here is the situation. the pump seems to work fine, i tested with a volt meter all the way back to the junction box, there is no voltage, i hooked the pump up to 12 volts, and works great. the ground is good for sure, the fuel guage is working properly, and has no resistance to ground. is the ecu shot or am i missing something? pulled the fuse and battery for a few hours to kill any memory in the ecu, but should i be looking for a new one??

thanks anyone who replys

Default Fuel Probs

I have recently gone through this as well
1st i need to know some things,

Has the bike been laid down if it has it is prolly a couple of things
(all are easy fixes)

1. IS the bike in gear?
2. the gear/ nuetral switch is stuck easy fix(these are usually the wires that get pinched during plastic removals and or mod adds.)
3. the tip over sensor is stuck
4. if u have recently removed the plastics u prolly pinched the wires on the left side of the bike
5. take off gas tank pull out ur filter and try to crank it. Might sound stupid but u might not be getting air through the filter.
6. There are a couple of switches that can be bypassed by a jumperwire. Get a rebuild manual locate these switches and jump the wire turn on ignition and listen for the pump. it is turn on during the jump or bypass the switch is bad

Hope these help

PS i would think most likely it is the wires for the kickstand down are pinched
located with the neutral switch left side just forward of motor.(need manual to locate it)
