I just afixed mp3 player speakers inside my helmet. It set up great behind the cheak pads, then the mp3 in my left jacket pocket.
Anyone have an oppinion on weather or not it is more dangerous to ride with music or not. I can hear all the external noises the same as before so I won't be audibly oblivious to traffic, even at full volumn its not too loud. I can shut off the player easily or turn it down etc.

My wife and I ride with the communicator and the MP3 player going most of the time. I keep it very low so it is more background noise than anything, but I haven't noticed any lack of alertness due to it. If anything it may have helped me relax and keep my eyes up more. I am sure opinions will vary, but my suggestion is ride with it for a while and see what you think.

I ride with music all the time. I keep the volume low, so it is like background music. Been doing so for years, never had any issues or problems, never been questioned by "the man" about it either.
I for one enjoy having a personal soundtrack to my rides.

Sorry reply took so long.

Then I ran the the wire from 1 speaker to the other around the neck pad opening. I had no Idea what I was doing but it only took 10 min. I put the mp3 in my pocket and doesn't look like my head movement will be impeded in anyway. I'm going to try it in a couple of hours. If I find that it distracts me I will post back I also did a test to see if I could take off my helmet without making it a project bc the the speaker wires and seems like no prob. I my hotglue the speakers if I see no prob. with the hole thing. My friend said I should be mindfull that I will ride faster depending on the tempo of the diff. songs.

I ride with my mp3 all the time. I just put the ear buds in my ears then put on the helmet. If you keep the volumn at a decent level you can still hear the "outside" world. Haven't ever found it distracting although I have found myslef tapping my foot at red lights=] I have also heard that we should ride with ear plugs because of the motor/wind noise. Seems like after years of prolong exposure it can cause a constant ringing in your ears.
