Default Bad rotors on 03 ZX6R? Need help!

Hey guys, I'm new here. I just bought a 03 zx6r 636 and its wonderful. Only problem is that when I'm braking it is not smooth like my last bike. The lever is smooth but the front end kind of pulses. To figure it out I went down a hill and was in neutral and just applied the brake gently doing about 5mph the whole way. The brakes felt like they grabbed, then let go, then grabbed again, and so forth, which made the front end kind of bob up and down. If I used the rear brake it was nice and smooth coming to a stop. Is this for sure a rotor or could it be the pads etc? And also if its just one rotor how do you tell which one? The bike has 9k on it and appears to be ridden aggressively, from looking at the tire its been leaned over real hard but the bike is real clean. Thanks everyone

new rotors time. I experienced this on an old EX500 I had, and it was the rotor. this is a good chance to upgrade your front brake rotors to wave rotors, or new OEM units. I wouldnt put used rotors on due to the chance of warpage.

Thanks for the help. I am kind of reluctant buying new rotors though because they are like $400. There is a pair of used ones on ebay for $40 do you think thats worth a shot? Or should I just fork out the money for good ones?

Personally, I'd rather spend the money on new rather than risk buyin a set of unknowns that may be warped, or worn to below minimum thickness.

As I see things with bikes.. once its broken or needs replacement, why buy stock.. I prefer to buy the good brand of something... I guess it make me feel justified to spend money and upgrade my bike lol ?

Spend the cash on a good set of rotors. I am thinking the stock rotors are only 5mm thick. a good set of aftermarket rotors should be 6mm thick and not warp as easily.
