Hey all...
Ok, lets say I purchase tires online and have them shipped to my house. Is it possible to mount the tires myself? or will I have to lug them to a place to do that for me? Also, do you think it is better to purcahse the tires online and bring them to be installed...or just buy the tires from the shop which would be installing them? Thanks, Vaedyn

I've heard Cycle Gear (franchises around the west) will mount a tire for eight bucks.

I just bought new tires for my bike so I stopped in at my dealer. He wanted $60 per tire to mount and balence it whether I bought it there or not. So instead I bought a tire mounter from Harbour Freight.

I mount my own tires, but if you care about your rims you have got to be real carefull. Most shops will mount them for you alot cheaper if you remove the rims from the bike yourself and take them to them.
