I own a 2008 zx10r, I was running a cbrr1000 this weekend when I got pass the 12,000 rpm mark my bike just stop pulling and it did that in every gear. Needless to say the cbr pulled away from me because I had to build up my rmp's every time I changed gears. Is there anything I can do to my bike to prevent that from happening again?

13K on the '06-07 model. If that bike stops pulling at redline in every gear there's something wrong.
What's the list of mods? Sprockets? Power Commander? Exhaust?

The CBR is faster stock vs. stock. The Honda motor makes more horsepower from 5,000 - 10,000 rpm and more torque too. According to Motorcycle dot coms literbike shoot out the Kawi makes more peak horsepower but it's at 12,000 rpm. Honda's peak is at 10,000 and it's about equal to the Kawi at that point. Also keep in mind the Honda is 25 pounds lighter than the Kawi. You'll need to drop some weight and find some HP to keep up with a rider of the same size and skill level on the 1000RR. You can read the article for yourself.

DO NOT FORGET AREODYNAMICS.....as you reach your peak hp, the effect of drag kicks in...
one smaller mirrors less drag two lose some weight (the bike) but remember hp to weight...in a 3300 lb car, a 150 driver is only 1.5% lighter than a 200 lb driver, on a 430 lb bike, a 150 lb rider is NEARLY 10% lighter than a 200 lb rider... lighten the bike.....#1 fix is overweight stock exhaust!!! three ... suck squeeze bang blow ... increase efficency...more air and fuel from ... better air filter, power commander, exhaust.... its a good place to start....the basics

The suck squeeze bang blow is a jet philosphy too. Do you work on airplanes? On my last plne they called it suck squeeze bang blow with a twist. There were little pieces of metal in the exhaust cone that twisted the exhaust. It somehow increased the thrust to have it twisting.

Probably, his only other post was a pic of a Blue 10 with an M4 exhaust and frame sliders. Not sure why someone would bash a bike they own. Eventually we all get out ridden, everyone can't be Valentino Rossi.

Carl,
to answer, helo's! But i was putting it in simple terms...since every cycle (Otto, Diesel, Brayton, Rankine etc) has its own idio's and delta's... And for jets...more of a ram squeeze bang twist....

V2K you said Helo's does that mean you are Navy or Marine? I am Navy. Guessing Navy since you said Helo's and you are in Corpus Christi. I am guessing HM-15. I used to be on the E-6B Mercury which has the CFM-56-2A-2 turbo fan engines. Not quite the stigma when referring to jets. Now on a UC-12B.

late to this party - most bikes stop pulling at the redline. That is why it is the redline. The ECU cuts fuel to save you from yourself and an expensive repair bill. That little light on the dash that is flickering at you? It is screaming "UP SHIFT! UP SHIFT NOW!".
I assume you are drag racing, so I'll stop here. my opinion of straight line speed is well recorded. Wake me up when you want to turn.

My first tour was undesignated SN on an Ammo Ship and did 2 Med Cruises and a couple of months in the Gulf. I was on the USS Butte. I got out and came back in 4 years later to be an AE and now I am an AWF from a forced merger.

My 10R nor my 6RR stops pulling at redline the way this guy claims. It almost sounds as if he's bouncing off the rev limiter, but he shouldn't be hitting that right at redline. There's still a few RPM's beyond the redline with every bike I've ever ridden, and they don't just stop pulling. I can't imagine the 08 10R is any different than its predecessors. Too many unanswered questions. If the bike is -1 +2, then it will affect how hard the bike pulls at the top end. Maybe there are some other mods that messed things up, but I'm just starting to believe he's trolling.

AZXRider, I'm not bashing my bike I just wanted to know why it stopped pulling when I reached the red line. Update I meet up with my friend on the CBR and we went at it again. This time I speed shifted through each gear and killed him. By the way along with the M-4 I also have a PCIII and K&N air filter. I plan on getting a custom map for my CPIII. I don't do the inline race thing but the CBR rider and I are friends and we were just playing around. I do mountain riding and some track riding. Peace and keep the wheels down.

I didn't think you were, the probably was meant to the question of whether you were serious or not, not that you were trolling (looking for a reaction from the board members usually by bash something they are into).

uhm torque/hp drop off way before redline.... look at any dyno sheet and it will either start downhill/flatten out way before redline... (unless the motor is built/timed to run harder which is a whole different story from stock engines)

Flatten out - yes, but the way he made it sound it stops pulling all together as though he's bumping off the rev limiter as soon as he hit redline. Now it sounds more like he just wasn't shifting quick enough, and could probably use a good map for his PC.
My ZX10R is almost bone stock and still pulls beyond redline. Case in point - the tall 1st gear will get you over 100 MPH, but it tops out around 13K RPM, when redline is 12K. It doesn't pull nearly as hard as it does at 11K, but there is still a small bit of acceleration beyond its redline. Bluemonster - since you're new, have a low post count and didn't respond for 4 days it appeared that you were trolling. Believe it or not, there are lots of people with nothing better to do who will join brand-specific forums like this one just to cause trouble and spread misinformation. I'm glad that you aren't one of those people. Right now it seems like there's an especially disproportional number of people who bought the '09 Yamaha R1 who are trying to nurse their bruised ego by bashing everything else out there.
