If it's absolutely perfect, I'd want it at $3500, probably try to get you down to 3k, but 3500 is a good start point.

FYI, kelley lists it at $4585, but that is in absolutely perfect, fully reconditioned and in excellent condition.

ahh it's not PERFECT. it has aftermarket plastics, and just a few dings, as any 2001 would. i'd say it's in good condition.

nothing mechanical, just a little cosmetic stuff here and there

I'd leave it at 3500, and expect offers of 3000. Also depends on how bad you want to sell it.
Many people assume (a lot of times, rightly so) that a bike with aftermarket plastics has been wrecked, which will really affect the price.
