Kinda scared of my odometer!

So I had been having a lot of issues with my bike such as it wouldn't start in the cold mornings and had a tendency to stall. I took it in to be repaired anyways I had my tubes and carbs flushed as well as the oil and gas because there was a backflow that created a mixture of oil and gasoline. Along the process I notice my Speedmeter wasn't work or odometer cause they forgot to plug the cable in. Can't anyone unplug to make an engine look younger than it really is? Just scares me cause I wonder if the previous owner did that to the bike because it was so lose and there were so many problems from the start.

They can be replaced with the replacement having different mileage also. In maryland you have to sign a mileage statement, for what thats worth, when selling your vehicle.
