    Default No Power

    Hi all,

I have just purchased a Kawasaki ZZR400 which was imported from japan. I live in South Africa. I have had the jets and carbs set and the local bike shop serviced it as well. I don't seem to have any top end speed though. It only gets around 120km/h (about 70mph) and wont go any faster. It has a lot of pull through the first four gears and gets to 120km/h quickly with the revs going all the way to 13000rpm until it hits the top gears at 120km/h then the revs just drop back to around 6000rpm and it wont go any faster.

Is there some kind of restrictor on the bike and can i adjust it. It is very frustrating. Please help. Does anyone have a workshop manual for me as well.

Thank you and have a great weekend

I have the same problem, exept that after I took the bike for jetting it lacked the pull away power. The top speed I got out of the bike was 160 km/h with the new jets. Then they changed the jets back and I have the pull away but not the top speed... This Kind of sucks. The pull away was so bad even a scooter 125 pulled out in front of me. Any Ideas what the problem might be?

A friends got the same bike and he gets top 200+
