The zx636 is an incredible machine. I have had mine about a month now. I am almost to 700 miles. The break-in is a pain. If you are buying used, you probably wont have that problem.

You are going to love the fuel injection. Worlds ahead of carbureation.

Some people knock the hunched over riding position. I am already getting used to it. My one complaint with this bike is the fact that no one has released a hugger for it yet.

There is the keyword right there.

Besides the '05 model is brand new, in time im sure there will be loads of aftermarket parts out there for us.

hahahahahahah, your saying this, dont take this wrong I really dont care but most poeple would say and the one guy, whose car I saw get dented pretty good by a guy stunting. My point is that stunting is already illegal, but the fines are so *****, and im sure you think they should be legal, right? Not trying to be a **** by anymeans just sounded funny to me that your putting down fuel injection and glorifying stunting.

Boy, then I guess your happy to hear that law doesn't exist. The ninja 250, 500, ZZR 600......and many other bikes I cant think of off the top of my head, are all carberated, it's just the companies all feel that FI is better than carbs.

Fuel injection is how they get the power up on the high-end bikes. Just like on a car the FI system delivers the exact right amount of fuel at every rpm. With a carb everything is a compromise between idle and wide open throttle. FI is far better than carbs. I wish Kawi would stop farting around and put FI on the 500R. I bet it would make 60+ hp if they did.

You're not alone! Some chick hit me from behind on my 2005 zzr600 and totalled it. I only had 1300 miles on mine just outside of the #$%^$& break-in period . I am now a proud owner of a 2005 Titanium 636 . Awesome bike!.

Here is a link to my original posts with pictures of the bike. I used to have a picture of the odometer but somehow mis-placed it.

Yeah, I was going to say, I know the 250 and 500 are carbed and I'd expect they'd stay that way for cheapness and simplicity. Maybe it's an AZ law? For instance I know you can't buy a new diesel car in NY (fracking annoying).

In what ways do you tune your carbs for stunting? Maybe I'm just a youngin' but I've always found modifying the fuel injection to be easier. I mean you're right, it's more expensive, it requires certain tools and a tunable ECU but once you have that the control is incredible and far better than on carbs.

Congrats on the new bike and sorry to hear about the old one. I love my 03 636...However, lately I have been eyeing a newer one. Time will tell. Be safe!

Wow, seems a lot of people are going unnoticed on their ZZR and summarily getting pounded by cars. Maybe Kawa put a stealth unit in the ZZR as a government test project and didn't tell anyone! Makes me re-think the ZZR over the Z750. haha

no the zzr was a great bike i do miss my 05 compared to the 636 huge difference in riding position, maybe it was the dark blue color that people dont see, now with the bright red of the 636 you cant miss it!

Why did you go after an 06 ZZR with the silver color? Guess they gave you just enough money to go after a bigger bike
