Well, there really are no other bikes in its class, it has 36 more cc's than all the other 600's. It is a great middle weight bike, very forgiving, and can be a great bike to learn on, only if you respect it. Is this your first bike?

nah, this is my second one. i learned how to ride in a 99 katana 600 about a month ago and then swapped it with a 04 636 plus $1500...only thing is it has a salvaged title, looks great though and runs awesome...

like coke said its really in a class of its own.... but if u do put it up against the other 600's u wouldnt have any troubles showing them your tail... if u like twisties then the r6 will be a tough challenge unless u know how to ride and tuck the bike really low in turns... it seems to have a problem of trying to straighten up too soon for me while exiting turns but learned to live with it.
