Cars who wanted a race?

just wanted to know what kind of morons out there in their cars thought they could outrun a bike. so far
1. new model conv. vet - pretty close one here
2. 350z - didnt have a chance and was with his woman
3. mitsubishi 3000gt - tried twice on same street. smoked
4. an idiot in a sentra thought he had something going. no need to elaborate

I think alot of those people are just trying to get a rise out of you to see what your bike can do. The vette is ok, but I mean, all these other idiots in a 350Z and 3000GT... they can't really think they stand a chance do they?

I dunno, I was on my zx10 with my gf on the back the other day and some punk kid in a VW Golf lines up next to me at the light. I didn't even notice him at the time so I just took off pretty light (but still beating the golf)... and evidently the kid was "racing" me. He was hitting it pretty hard and constantly looking over at me (according to my gf). But whatever... I mean, he's "racing" me when I have a passenger on back? and even still, does he really think he has a chance?

thats funny. i dont provoke the race by any means. if its obvious the dude wants it at the light i smoke him to about 80 or 90 then let off. i dont ride with passengers, dont like it. but thats the point of the thread. people see im only on a 636 and think that its slow.

My husband had a Miata against his Vulcan 750. He figures the kid in the Miata thought his bike was "slow" because it wasn't a sportbike or something. The kid in the Miata learned a painful lesson. I understand my husband didn't even roll on the throttle all that hard either.

Thankfully I don't get many of these (not that they'd stand much of a chance against my bike either). I either take the interstate to work in the mornings and a low traffic route home or the low traffic route both ways.

Ive had a few cars here and there try to run me or take off fast instigating a race, usually by the time I hit 2nd gear there so far back its not even worth trying to get me lol.

The best was one night, this kid in a older toyota supra or something tried messing with me so I came upa long side of him and really fast downshifted into 2nd and made the exhaust pop with a blue flame shooting out of it, he backed off after that lol.

I remember a night back in 82 when my buddy Ernie in his old rusted out Olds 88 with a 350 rocket and turbo 400 auto said he could take Tracy in his 82 Mustang Boss....

it was over before ernie even bragged....greatest defeat in the history of friday night boulevard drags.

I don't think it's the kids in the cars think that the bikes are slow. I just think they actually think their cars are fast. Kids will race anything. I once had a mustang 5.0 try to race me when I was in my '87 Toyota Tercel hatchback. It had a whopping 1.5l in it. Funny thing is I won, He stalled when the light turned green. I went the speed limit and he stayed way back, I guess due to embarassment.

It's hard to resist when some punk is next to whith his POS whit the super duper sweet sounding farting exaust and the duck taped rear spoiler and they want race you.
One week after I started riding I had one next to me and best part was leaving him behind not 100 yard after it started and waving to him as I passed him and so he responds by sticking his had out hte sun roof to flip me off. I was great!!!

Once I was goin to work, and the roads speed limit was 40, and i accelerated up to 50ish pretty quickly, and as i hear this loud car comin up on me, and it's this 95 or so camaro, and I'm like, wtf. I just put on my signal and was slowin down to turn off, and I guess he thought I was racing. *shrugs* haha I'm like, "come on, you have no chance...haha" I love HS kids that think they their car is fast. Always a good laugh.

had a guy a few weeks ago ask me if I want to run, so since he's in a late 90's z28 I figure he's talking about the camero, so I told him no cause my rear tire is so bald I wont even get any traction to start, so he's like "no not this car, I got a busa" so I went on to say "nah, i wont run the camero, let alone the busa" was funny at the time, either way me and my friend ended up going back to his house to chat about bikes and see his 05 limited busa.

My co-worker brags about his turbo '88 Mazda MX-6 and how it's not even worked over and he beats soooo many cars that challenge him. So I opted to open my big mouth and inform him his car is a slug on 4 wheels... Lets just say it caused him to snap & challenge me to race after work on my old 32,600 mile beat down / no performance mods / KZ550 bike. We pull out from work just in time to hit a red light on a straight stretch. God himself couldn't have made it any more perfect!! I look over at him while pointing & laughing. He revs the crap out of the motor just to hear his blow-off valve so he can sound that much more faster to me. Light changes and within seconds I'm 50 yds or more down the road while he's spinning tires and barely gaining any ground at all.
Next day rolls around at work & he's the butt of his own joke for being beaten by me on my bike. He stopped running his mouth about how slow my bike had to be since it was "old & beat down".

yeah a guy at work was talking about his vette. I had just had my bike dyno tuned. He was talking how fast his car would go. I had him committed to a race 1/4 mile for pink slips. He thought he could actually win. I didn't have the heart to steal his vette from him though.

I dunno, ive run into plenty of bikes that couldnt cut it against my Talon. I figure most if it comes from me having all wheel drive and being able to launch the crap out of it regardless of the street. Then again,the Talon is still a mid 11 second car on pump gas. While most bikes are faster than that, most riders (myself included) are not. Usually I can take sport bikes in a standing race, but from a roll, they will get me.

I've beaten a stang, a vette and a Modena. The Mustang from a traffic light and the other two on the interstate. And my burban will eat that Talon for lunch.

I once was about to turn an older hyundai elantra into a sleeper cause th 92-95 Elantras are a direct bolt in of the talon-eclipse turbo 2.0 motors and basically you will be running the same boost as you would on the talon-eclipse but in a 4 door hyundai elantra lol. Talk about sleeper.
