2000 W650 vs 2004 W650

Hi new to the forum and will be purchasing a W650 soon. Wondered if anyone here has had experience with them and could give me some advice. I have found two options with different plus and minuses. There is a 2000 model in the cream/burgundy colour with just 1500 miles on the clock one owner kept in storage a lot, excellent condition but not used much and may have stood for long periods in a garage. As its a 2000 model I understand it has a few things that were improved on the 2001 model like the seat and forks. Theres no rust or scratches price is equivalent to 4300 dollars , private sale.

The second option is a 2004 blue / cream model with 1950 miles on the clock, 4 owners from new , in excellent condition, comes with some extra pipes, has the ribbed seat. Its from a dealer and comes with 18 month warranty. Price is 5500 dollars.

If I can save 1200 dollars then that would be great but Im wondering what people's thoughts are on this , what would be the sensible choice ? are the differences between model years that much ? if I save the 1200 dollars I could buy an aftermarket seat fro 150 dollars etc - is 1200 dollars worth the later model with 18 months warranty

any thoughts ?

Just to add - the dealer bike is 300 miles away and need it shipped and they will charge 250 dollars !! The private cheaper 2000 model is only 35 miles away and I'll ride home !
