yes well a 9 yr old doesnt think of those things does he?

Now that I ride I have to say that I would love to race. I cant wait untill I graduate from college to earn the big money and start spending some (now) serious cash in my toys!

Unfortunately I happen to be too old to start...

You don't get "buckled in a speed trap with no chance of escape."

F1 is vastly safer than bike racing. The carbon-fibre monocoque stays intact (with you strapped in with a 6 point harness with HANS device) while the rest of the car demolishes itself to absorb the impact energy. After the crash, the drivers can remove the steering wheel in seconds with the quick release mechanism and the harness can be removed with one action. Drivers are trained to escape the car in less than 6 seconds.

There have been several crashes in recent years where the cars impacted into concrete and tyre barriers at almost 300km/h. The worst injury sustained was by Ralf Schumacher in 2004 from backing his Williams into the concrete at turn 1 of Indianapolis at 280km/h after a tyre failure on the banking. He suffered a few broken vertebrae, and that's it!

Crash at that speed into anything solid on a bike and you end up like the late Daijiro Kato (RIP) every time.

Turn 1 shunts at Phillip Island show that even when you don't hit something, coming off at 200km/h+ will result in severe bruising, broken bones and internal bleeding. If you're unlucky, spinal injuries.

May 1 1994, Imola, turn 1 (Tamburello). Roland Ratzenberger died at Imola one corner down from Senna only a day before! An awful weekend.

Fortunately safety has improved by leaps and bounds since then, and AS remains the last F1 fatality.

I was wondering when Mordeth13 was going to make an appearance on here. I've been subscribed to him for a month or so. He has a ton of videos, great tour of Tiawan.

Hyperactive's Lasse Gjertsen is back at it again, and this time he's Hyperactive in Stereo.
