tuff to watch. I always hate seeing folks go down sporters or sportsters....i'm not one who likes watching video of people getting hurt on those tv video clip shows either.

i felt sorry for him as he lay on the ground trying to collect himself...then I realize, he did it to himself

I know lots of people like to wheelie, heck I tried to wheelie my meanstreak once! but I really think you should do it on a dirt bike. Dirt bikes are meant to crash, and crash, and crash. You just pick them up and go again. Street bikes aren't meant to go down, ever. And if you're going to play (on your street bike), you're going to pay.

Who cares how fast a car can go? Or if it's faster than a bike? We know bikes are a heck of a lot more fun! And how much does it cost to go that fast and handle that well in a car? Way more than it costs for a bike I'm sure. That's the beauty of a bike you can go spend $8,000-$10,000 and get absolutely unbelievable acceleration and handling.

I need to get some free time and do some research. Most tracks keep track of their fastest lap times. Gather that up for bikes and cars and see what the results are.

The problem comparing an F1 car to anything is that F1 cars are....well F1 cars. They cost close to a million dollars a pop, have more technology stuffed in to them than most companies have in the whole IT departments. A motoGP bike (or any of the race bikes for that matter) are not that different from what goes on the street. They get better rubber, but even that ends up on the street eventually.

Would I expect an F1 car to turn in better lap times than a MotoGP bike? For a million dollars it had better.

BTW - a MotoGP bike runs about $250K a pop.

I havent seent he last vid, but yeah F1 will turn faster laps than moto gp. Although it did say that a Ducati (cante remember the rider) did get to 347km/h listen carefuly to the first vid.

So yes, F1 cars are faster, and they still need lots and lots of skill to really handle them. But they are two different things...

they both represent the best racing (skill) in both means cars, and bikes.

I would also point out that driving an F1 car requires a little more skill than being able to push a button. The cars are instrumented to a very high degree, but there are severe limitations on what they can do to control the car.

Things like engine management are allowed. but traction control isn't. No anti-yaw control or any of that stuff the WRC guys use. So the driver still has to pick the line, feel for traction and handle a ton of stuff. Then there is also the matter of strategy. Do you break out early or save your tires for a battle at the end? Do you block your team mate hoping to post a better time than him or do you work with him to beat the other teams? braking battles or hold the line? You can punch buttons to make that stuff work. It is also the same for the monkey's on the back of motorcycles.

Ok im not saying that F1 is Easy.. not arguing wioht that at all!.. but u cant tell me that Driving Moto gp requieres a Lot more B@lls to do it.. than cars.. and of course much more to do.. in curves, wet tracks, etc..

ThAts the Reason because F1 is looking for Valentino rossy to come with them and theres no Gp looking for schumager.. he will be a dissater on bike race.!

Absolutely - doing what the MotoGP guys do is nuts and I want to be able to get close to it. F1 still requires skill and courage - just not quite as much.

Now the WRC guys..... they got some balls. How many drivers or riders do you see roll their car down a hill, get the fans to get it back on its wheels and then finish the stage?
