Default ZZR250 or 500R (Canadian Models) please read.

Ok here is my concern, I am looking to buy brand new bike and its either going to be the ZZR250 or the 500R from the dealer. I love the look of the ZZR250 100 times better then the 500R Color is better too. But As far as power I know the ZZR250 is slower by about 2 seconds 1/4 mile well thats what I read.

Anyhow because the 500R is $600 CDN more then the ZZR250 wouldn't it be better to get the ZZR250 and use that extra $600 in mods like exhaust or some other performance mod to make more power then the 500R stock would?

What do you guys think? Here are the 2 bikes I like the black ZZR250. But if I was to get the 500R i would get the silver one. Have a look!

I say first get the BLACK one. It looks great! 2nd save yourself the money and buy yourself the needed safety gear -- Invest in a great helmet , gloves, and riding outfit. If any is left over you can spend it on upgrades.

If not enough money for both, you will always save more in insurance for the smaller bike and can save for future mods as you get used to the bike and can take advantage of the power.

There are a lot of aftermarket parts for the 250 too. The money you save on insurence and not buying the 500 will let you get the 250 to be a real speed racer(more then it is already is).

If performance is a huge criteria to you, I'd look into how much money has to be spent to make up that 2 second difference if it can be done and still have it run in a reliable manner. Good luck.

BTW-Astino, welcome to the forum.
