Default Is this a good price for an '01 zx-6r

HI I am looking at getting a zx6r. I found one in Minnesota, the guy is asking $4,000 but said he would take $3700. It is in good condition never been down. 5500 miles and is in the twin cities area. I was just wondering if that is a good price or if that is what these bikes go for in the area. It seems cheaper then what you can get bikes for where I live in wisconsin.

Yeah, that's a pretty good deal. I'd jump on it if I was looking for a bike. If you can deal with having a yellow bike then go for it.

That's a damn good deal son...****** that up. The colors are cool as well...I miss those loud colors from the 80s and 90s.

Doesn't sound to bad of a deal. NADA lists the Low Retail for $3,065 and Average Retail for $4,030. Kelly Blue Book Lists trade-in at $3,340 and Retail at $4,850.

That averages out to be $3,202 for Low-book and $4,440 for high book. So $3,700 sounds like a good number.

got the bike and it is sweet. Might need a carb synch i notice a little hesitation around 9500 rpm as I am accelerating. Otherwise is sweet. Not a scratch on it.

Definately congrats on your purchase. Again, welcome to the Kawi club! I'm sure you'll be nothing but happy with the bike. My next purchase will be a sport bike, but until then I'm doing what I can with my old school bike.

If you have not taken the MSF course, do so. It will teach you a lot and it tends to drop the price of your insurance. Different companies have different amounts they'll discount it.

hey thanks for the welcome, i am taking the MSF course in september so by the end of the year I will have my class M license. I was surprised my insurance is only 180 a year for full coverage. I am under my dads policy, so it is under his name but I also am listed as a rider so its kind of nice. I was surprised it is so cheap, I'll have to ask my agent if it drops down even more once I complete the class.
