    Default Targa lower cowling 500R

I was considering painting the stock lower green to match the bike. But then I came across the Targa lower cowling. It changes the look of the 500 to be more sporty IMO. Anybody have the Targa lower on a 500R and care to post pics or relay any info about the product fit? I will be painting it myself. Still haven't decided if I want to change my bike color or not.

I think Kyle (Freakinout) has the Targa lower on his bike.

His is all Silver, looks really nice.

I have a Targa rear hugger...Looks better than the OEM one...However, I realized it chips easily from rocks that chipped some off the edge. This weekend I put some automotive edging trim to cover and protect it. I will post a pick later.

I've got a targa lower, it fits okay. Took some adjustments (with a drill) to get the mounting holes just right.

It will run hotter, so make sure your fan/radiator are good to go. Keeps the legs a little more comfortable during the winter.

    There are pictures somewhere.

FYI: the lower was painted after the rest of the bike, so the color isn't perfectly on. (mostly the lack of blue pearl in the clear)

    Cool

Salutations: Here are a few from my 89 EX. I don't know what I was thinkinh inregard to the paine sceme at the time. Didn't take more that a drill and some screws to get it neat, lock screws.

Looks great. Question though. Can the warranty be void since this does leads to running hotter which is a direct result of the add-on? If something w/ the radiator / engine does go wrong that is. Or is the increase in temperature not really that significant to warrant these type of worries?

Doesn't the 250 already have something like this?
Would the lower off of the 250 fit on the 500?

probably not since the 250 is a different bike altogether.

Makes sense on the fit issue.

The 250 is a narrower frame, wouldn't fit.

If one of the other parts goes out, then warranty should cover it. It only creates a heating problem if the sensor that turns the fan on goes out.
