Thumbs down My first post is a rant....

    Hey all.

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now.

    I own a 2004 ZX10r. Love it.

BUT as my first post i'm going to rant. Happened this morning.

I head home in a rush this morning from my girl's house. When I geared up in her driveway I opened up the fake trunk to throw my cell phone in there so everything looked fine.

I get home, park in the driveway and lean down to take a look at where the keyhole is and I see the plastics around the keyhole all cracked and broken. The undertail and the one that the keyhole is located in. its the one that wraps around the side and up to meet the side of the seat.

Im so ****ed bc I happened to be reading a post about 2 days ago about someone looking for stronger plastics bc the OEM ones break. And I happened to say to myself "How the hell would you manage to break stock plastics without dropping the bike?".....I jinxed myself

I'm going to have to get an oem undertail now bc I wnated to get an aftermarket one but I found the taillight replacement for my bike with the intergrated turn signals. So I'm going to have to cough up $$ for the 2 OEM pieces. :::gulp:::

j/k - it's a bummer what happened. Stuff breaks, don't know what else to say.

Man, that sucks. I've had both good and bad luck with plastics on my bikes over the years. It just seems to be luck of the draw.
Sorry to hear your experience was a bad one.

Wouldn't surprise of if the torque on the bike twisted the frame enough to break weak plastic... Sorry to hear about it buddy

    thanks everyone!

I'm not really bummed about it. I just like keeping things clean and in good condition and when things break without me causing it, It kind of gets me mad. I'm actually attending an anger management class because of things like this.

    JUST KIDDING. LMAO!.

Trying to make a list of goodies to get for my bike for my birthday which is about a month and a half away...hehehe.

hi and welcome sorry to hear about your plasics.

check ebay! they sell at a cheaper price than the dealers, and they are in pretty good shape... I found the nose cowling for $80 instead of new and 480! and there are a lot of things for the zx10... many more than for my bike!
    mmm track days....
