Default Is tuning the answer ?

Hi, I've just finished giving my 96 ZX9R-B a lengthy service and am looking for some advice. This may seem a stupid question but i'm worried and need a second opinion so i'll explain the situation so far. I've added a new K&N high flow air filter, K&N high flow oil filter, Fully synthetic oil, NGK iridium spark plugs, coolant change and last but not least a full Beet Nassert exhaust system with titanium pipes. I knew it would need a tuning afterwards but at the moment it can barely hit 4000 rpm through all the gears and lets off more of a Harley rumble than the crazy sound of a screaming Ninja, i've only taken it for a short ride just to test it out but it's a lot worse than i expected, can a tuning cure this problem or could it something more serious ? It idle's almost perfectly at 1100 rpm and only has a short delay in throttle response when in neutral and will smoothly fly up the rpm. I'm no mechanic but i've been busier than a one armed decorator and have carried out all work keeping strictly to the service manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Something isn't hitting right. Good Luck. Someone should be able to lend some advice shortly.

Sounds like it may be running rich, not sure though need a little more info. Mine did the same thing though. The carb was finished. through on a new one and she ran great. I had pretty close to the same type of problem. I could run it up in neutral fine but as soon as I put a load on it, it would run like crap like it wasnt getting any fuel or to much. I replaced the carb and she was fine.

I'm no mechanic, but am pretty sure that you've got to have it jetted and tuned after the K&N air filter and pipe.
