Smile Good Step Up Bike From EX 500 Ninja?

I recently got a EX 500 as my first bike ever. It is awesome and I am now planning on what bike I will buy next year. I like the Kawasaki line so I think I am sticking with it. What bike of these is the best transition from the EX 500?

-ZZR 600
-ZX 6R
-650 R
-636

Thanks.

I guess it's all up to you, and how comfortable you are, and in what direction you want to go. I guess the 650R is bigger, still a twin, more comfortable riding position, the ZZR is still comfortable, while it's technically "touring" the riding position is more aggressive and is basically a re-badged previous ZX6R, 4 cyclinder, sport bike.

I went from the 500 to the zx6r and I love it. The riding position isn't for everyone though.

Forget the new bike for a while. Ride/enjoy the 500R for a few months/about 10k miles and make a fresh decision then. You're going to be suprised at how your mindset will change over the months. Ask Stefano, I told him that I would never get anything but a 650R as my "final" bike. Well, since then I considered the ZX10-R, FZ6/FZ1, SV650, Bandit 600/1000 and only a few weeks ago decided on an '03 - '05 Z1000 for my final bike for next year. This Thursday will mark the 1 yr. anniversary of my getting my bike. So it took almost a year and 10k miles to finally decide what I'm going to buy in a year from now!

All sweet bikes that you listed, but like others said it depends on you and what kind of ride you want. I have a 250R and a '99 ZX6R (which is very close to the current ZZR 600). I haven't yet ridden a 636 or 650R, but have considered both.

In a few years when my oldest son is ready to ride he's inheriting the 250R and I'll need to replace it with something. If I had to decide today it would likely be the 650R for the long, comfy rides and I'm contemplating replacing my 6R with a ZX-10 or 636 later this year.

I would go with whichever one of the bikes you listed that you feel most comfortable on. just because I think its a good bike doesnt mean you're going to like it. go with what you feel suits you and your wants best.

Gotta give every one of them a feel test before you decide... If I'm not mistaken, the 500 has a similar feel to that of a 250.. They both have builds resembling the zzr600. With the Zx6, the 650r, and the 636, your getting put in a completely different riding position. It all depends on how comfortable you are on the bike

I too made the jump from the 500 to the zzr 600 and cannot complain one bit.

the 100cc give me about twice the power, yet it is not a beast like the supersports are. It is more comfortable than the current supersports and it will keep up with them...

go sit on one.. give it a try... the zx6r's insurance will be more expensive... and the 650r will be very similar to the ex 500 as far as power (I have heard)

I posted the similar thread a year ago, went from 250 to 636. I love it and want to thank the people for the advice.

Maybe check your local adds. Right now there is a 2005 GSXR600 with 4300 miles on it listed by me for $6300. The guy is selling it because "Too much bike for me and must go before I end up hurting myself."

Don't stick to Kawasaki just because that is you owned last. There are lots of good bikes out there, find one!

+2 I would also rather go with a 1000 if I were you. Why not get a
bike you can ride comfortably 2 up and has power through more
of the rpm range. I doubt your saveing anything on insurance buying
a 600 supersport over a 1000 nakid bike. I own 2 bikes that are each
about a thousand CCs and love them so I am biased.

+1...I would get another 600 but after having 2 of them, I see no need to get another one...1000 baby! Though secrently inside I harbor love for a cruiser as well...Not now but one day.
