I just recently purchased this bike and i think because the guy i bought this from was quite a bit shorter than I am he never had a reason to change anything. But i'm 6'3" and on bike rides longer that 30 mins i start to get a somewhat sharp pain in my right wrist almost like what i would imagine carpal tunnel syndrome would feel like. And after searching all over the net trying to find a way to do this properly i've decided to listen to the advice of yahoo users.
Reguardless i need to know what bolts and and things i need to do to turn the handle bars out just a little, i'm a bit concerned though that they are free floating handle bars and don't have exact position settings they can be set in. Meaning there is a large margin for error on trying to make these bars be the same position apart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Need some more detail on what you want to do. Pics help. First of all, do you have a handlebar or clip-ons? Second, these bikes are made for japanese riders, so its gonna be kinda cramped with you being 6'3. You could go with a cruise control to relieve some of the pain in your right wrist. I like throttlemeister. They are bar ends that act as cruise control. Everyone I talk to about cruise control, recommends them. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice so far, but aparently that year and model has clip ons that are "not" adjustable. One position only. So now i have to look into aftermarket clip ons. I'm hearing mixed reviews about the vortex clip ons. Some say they are great others say they dont wotk properly with these bikes due to the fact that the stock clip ons also have a somewhat built in riser so that the bars actually sit about the top clamp. Apparently the vortex ones sit below the top clamp, which in my opinion wont help my problem. Anyone else have any suggestion on aftermarket clip ons that will fit the same as the stock ones. Meaning they will fit under the top clamp and the actaual bars will be above the top clamp? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks

I actually use to own a 2002 ZX-6R (in Red) and as luck would have it, I'm also 6'3". Unfortunatly, I never had issues with the riding position being painful, I suggest you check your form (you should not have any weight on your arms, keep your arms bent, etc...) and also check that the suspension is setup correctly. If the person you bought from was shorter they may have lowered the bike and/or dropped the bike's front end down in the triple tree. Someone was selling a 2002 ZX-6R near me recently that had been lowered in the front this way (dropped the forks in the triple). You wouldn't by chance have bought it from Dover, NH?
