I know some may think it odd, but I love my ZX10R and plan to ride off on vacation in a month or so. I want to know does anyone know of any sport bags that would work on this bike? There are a few issues as I see it, first problem is the location of the exhaust. It has dual exhaust. Second is the tail section's funky shape / size. To view a shot of this bike, click on the link. Thanks to Sport Rider Magazine for the shot. Awesome review of this years Sport Bikes.http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/2007/146_0609_05_wl+2007_kawasaki_ninja_zx_10r+black_st atic.jpg

That is one thing about any sportbike...It is hard to make it carry more stuff...I know Zed made a rack for his...PM him if you can.

Thanks for the reply Ervins, but I have no time, I work 3 jobs, I do not have the talent, I am a computer geek, a place for doing such work or the equipment to make a rack. I am looking for something I can buy specifically for the 2007 ZX 10R that will allow me to take my camera gear, laptop and other personal items for a two week trip without having it strapped to my back.

Do a search online. I don't know if anyone makes bags specifically for the 10, but there are a few componies making bags designed for sportbikes. Cortech would probably be a good start.
Your biggest problem is gonna be the laptop. Not only will you have a problem finding sportbike bags that will actually fit an average 15" computer, but I've never been a big fan of letting my Mac bounce around attached to the bike. I always slide it in my backpack when I need to tranport it by two wheels.

it works great. I can haul more than just azz with this thing now. I have the first sport touring ZX10R
I also hooked up a wire so I can power my chatterbox, don't have to remember to charge it now.

Hey Guys,
I found a workable solution thanks to Mike Corbin. I called about a new seat for my ZX 10R and he asked if I had seen the new "Smuggler" trunk for the ZX 10R. I had not, so I surfed the web to Corbin.com and checked it out. Extremly pricy $799.00. But it gave me an idea to check for something similar. So I navigated to ebay.com and found a lockable trunk for $58.00 plus shipping on a buy it now. (So, I bought it now) It mounts to a rack, and holds alot of stuff, including, my laptop, a large full faced helmet, etc. I found a rack for an 06 ZX10R (should mount on the 07)http://www.revsperformance.com/image...ckREN7295B.jpg ($140.00 plus shipping) to mount the trunk to. It isn't as bad as the "Smuggler's price, but if I want to leave the rack on, it doesn't look really bad. And I ordered the Corbin Saddle, $229. |

Sorry Jason,
I would have a hard time "just bungging" 11 Grand worth of photo equipment and 2 Grand laptop to anything. Besides, what "rear handles" are you speaking of? my ZX10R has none that I have seen. Tim |

Well Stefano,
Since you live in Italy, I would guess that you have never had the opportunity to ride "Deals Gap" AKA The Dragon (Maps & Directions - Deal' Gap, NC, Great Smoky Mountains, TN & NC). I live in Kansas, North Carolina is almost 1000 miles away. I would not be a wimp and trailer my bike to go ride the Dragon, so the next best thing is to pack gear for a road trip. This is one of the best sections of twisties known to Sport Bikers (318 turns in 11 miles) and if wanting to take a vacation and ride to NC to ride the Dragon, well I guess I am crazy. I will post some pictures from the trip when I return. Tim |
