Tell him there's a great road up near Mabry Mill near the BRP. It's called Squirrel Gap Rd or something like that. I'll have to check the map. If they head up to 58 going up the mountain above W-S they should find it. One of the Vulcan riders that lives up in the area took us on it.

Nice! I'll pass on the word to him. Maybe next time I'm in NC I'll see if he can get a bike for me to ride and we can all ride up there. I'm so stoked to get the new 250R. He's going to make me a fender elim kit for it. Just have to get him the measurements.

Hey, that'd be fun. By the way...I just looked. It's called Squirrel Spur Rd.

Actually I witnessed about an even amount across the board

I was out on the one day when it was 35 - 40F and I seen cruisers and sport bikes alike. Lately ive been taking my truck cause im waiting for my heated pants... wimp me - yeah sure

But I have ridden with jeans and a light jacket in the teens - and the only thing that happens is you get cold and when you get cold you get mad and angry and drive like a maniac - i dont want to do that - so ill wait for the right gear

I ride year round here in Philly. I'm a firefighter here so I get use to the cold.
Almost 50 with 3 bikes '06 ZX 14, '07 'Busa, '05 ZX 2R. Just wear the right gear and put your cold hand between your legs at the stop lights.

Ha ha. That is so funny. My office is freezing and I keep putting my hands between my legs to warm them. It works very nicely.

Hey...did you see about about Squirrrel Spur Rd? You guys need to go up there with me one day. We can also try out 8 and 40 up in that area. Should be plenty of great riding for a day!

How far is that from Charlotte?

It's getting kinda cold. I would've ridden today but it was like 40 this morning (I am a wimp).

^That is even funnier!!!

Heated gloves aren't very comfy and I am not sure they work well at work but they do wonders when you are riding.

I wonder how well I could type and use my mouse while wearing heated gloves.

Riding with my dad is funny. He waves at anything with less than 4 wheels. Bicyclists look at him like he is crazy when he waves.

it's about two hours ride to that area. Quickest way is up through W-S. Probably not the right place to go until spring unless we catch a nice warm day. Wouldn't want your hands getting cold!

No, we don't want me to be cold. Plus in the spring I'll have more experience and be less chicken.

Hey, 2 nights ago i went riding at night while it was 32 degrees out. I was wearing my skiing jacket and jeans. Besides my hands, didnt really feel that cold, until i got home, then i just couldnt warm, even after like an hour long scalding hot shower. Plus my face burned the day after. I think i was starting to get hypothermia. So be careful when u ride in the cold, guys. It's not badass if you feel like i did afterwards.

This week the weather is supposed to take what appears to be it's final dip into winter here, so I went out for a ride today on a slightly different route than I normally take to the mountains. The temps peaked out in the high 60's on the plains and low to mid 50's in the canyons. Surprisingly there were a LOT of sporties out today, and not so many cruisers. There wasn't even a Broncos game today. Maybe it was just the route I took today as opposed to the usual roads. It definitely wasn't the type of road you'd want to take an inexperienced rider, nor one for a nice relaxing cruise.

I definitely could have used some thicker gloves and warmer pants. I got back hours ago and my legs are STILL cold. brrrrrrr........

Gear up!! Get gear to protect you from that. It could have been worse before the afterwards.
