On the comments about sport bike tires not doing well in the cold, is there a winter tire I could put on my ninja 250?
Just buy a super sticky tire that would normally melt off in the summer. It will warm right up.

Also start out with lower air pressure. I run 32 lbs in the summer and start out with 29 to 30 in the winter (sport bikes).

One of the reasons some of us Cruiser riders only ride at 40 mph is we are playing with our Saki Girls Rubek's Cube while riding. (gotta keep our hands busy LOL)

Now allow me to give an equally thought out statement. All cruiser people are afraid to ride a real bike with real horsepower and speed capabilities. They are all wimps because they ride underpowered, relatively slow, overweight shiny machine barca-loungers with massive wind protection, because the wind scares them. I am spot-on right?

I can't say I believe your right, but I was riding today and scaling around a curve having fun, scraping pegs and making sparks, and up ahead is a sportie damn near sitting UPRIGHT through the same curve and faster than me!! The rake probably has more to do with it than anything, but..... whew!
I do admit even my little wannabeabigbike cruises through gunk on the road that has the sporties slipping and sliding. Diiferent strokes for different folks! Two wheels and we are ALL having fun!! Can't think of a single thing that really matters after that!!!

Now THAT, right there, is weird!!!

It is strange how different bikes fit different people... there are 2 guys on these boards with a ZX-10R, one of them finds it real comfy (Ervins), the other guy (jninja - haven't seem him around in a while) who incidentally also races a 636 in local races says that thing is a wrist-killer!

I only have experience on my 636, but I can say that if I haven't ridden in a long time (a few months), going for for a 200 mile ride will have me moaning in my helmet towards the end from the pain on my wrists, neck, back and right knee

On the topic of cold, just how many watts does the 250r have to spare? can it push a heated vest at freeway speed? how about a vest and grips?

Rant over.
When I lived in KY, there was a sonic about 5 mins from where I worked... I ate there alot... #2 w/ tater tots please

we get the sonic commercials up here too.... we get red lobster ads and I think the closest one is in CT..

Rock on for heated accessories...I'm going to be riding my new 250 when I get it all through ther winter...so I may get some heated gloves as well...That's the worst part of riding in the cold...not being able to feel your hands...and it's dangerous...

Yeah, I don't like it when I cannot feel my hands.... no thanks. The gloves work very nicely.

It's the only part of me that gets cold, other than that, I am good.

It was 45 here today and I was out and about most of the day on my Versys. I did notice that there was not alot of other bikes on the road period. The ones I did see were big touring bikes.
