Default Yamaha FJR1300 or V-Max........

I might have the opportunity to get either one of these bikes. Both 2003 models. Opinions???

FJR. The V-Max doesn't corner well.

That's what I thought. I will make sure that yellow is not the color.

What do you plan to do with it? If you are going to tour then of course you know the answer. If not, then the V-Max.

Neither the V-Max nor the FJR comes in yellow, so at least Darrell is safe!

Apples and Oranges being compared here....what sort of riding do you like to do most?

Long distance trips?
Cruising and riding around town with your pals?

V-Max's are nice. In a straight line.

But what a line it is!

I'd stick with the FJR too.

Agreed, but that straight line (wherever it goes) is pretty darn nice IMO. That's why having multiple bikes is a must...especially if you want to corner

There are no bad handling bikes. Only unskilled riders who do not know how to compensate for a vehicle's shortcomings. V-Max with bags and a windshield.

The FJR is a much better choice though, but it wouldn't be mine. (I do things MY WAY!!!!)

If you're uncertain, you don't want the V-MAX.

One has to WANT the V-MAX, or you'll likely find it unrideable.

I have a ZRX, which is kind of the same idea, but not as exacerbated.
