I was browsing through some helmets online(dont worry , I am not going to buy one online , I was just browsing) and I came across an helmet from ICON that I like.
http://store.yahoo.com/motostrano/icprimgraphe.html I am not familiar with quality helmets being that I am a newbie to the bike world. I have a favorite brand(alpinestars) but I dont know much about quality helmets. I also diddnt wanna assume since it was 235.00 that it was good. I read the descriptive paragraph and it sounds great. can someone check it out and let me know. Also can someone reccomend a good brand helmet. Thanks

www.agv.com is all i wear. but find a place to try them on since helmets fit different heads. AGV is tighter (like its SUPPOSED TO BE) on me but after 5 rides they fit PERFECT.

This link is at the top of the home page here under Shoei Helmets. I wear a Shoei Z11 solid color. I also have an R 900. Wouldn't wear anything else except an Arai which I have for the dirt.

As has been said. Find a local shop and try them on. They all fit a little different. When you find a brand you like, AND it fits good, see what kind of deal the shop will give you. You never know, mine beat the online prices. If not, when you know what will fit properly, see what prices you can get on line. I have ordered a lot offline and have been happy with all of it. But always try it on first.
I have an HJC and it works great for me. Besides I love the look. My AV is the back of it. Joe

I like the way Shoei's look.
I think however I have my mind set on an AGV V-Flyer Slide Helmet. I want the Red one. I will have red/black/white on everything. Those are my favorite colors. http://www.helmetharbor.com/estore/p...id=AGV+V-Flyer I think this will be my choice. Thanks for the links and all the different Inputs. I will be sure to try it on in person and make sure its snug. Thanks for everything guys.

Opinions will vary on this subject so take each piece in and evaluate for your situation.
I personally have ridden with Arai mostly because of fit although I have to admit in 86 having the Freddie Spencer replica was to have the famous Red/white/blue helmet he wore and it matched my bike. You will find that fit, finish, features and materials used will vary by price. Settle in on the price you can afford and get the best fitting helmet with the most features that appeal to you. If you have an unlimited budget that will level the field to the best helmet available for the fit of your head. A friend works closely with a helmet distributor and the only thing lately really bad were several helmets being returned for the same reason. Face shield separating from the helmet at normal speeds. This is becoming a known issue for them. It is an el cheapo brand with 3 letters. They also happen to manufacture their helmet for another company too and slap the other companies name on it.
