Yeah, so I was originally going to sell my 500r at some point this season and jump to a 600 but the bike has grown on me. With that in mind, time to mod.

So I've searched the forums and gotten a bit of info and decided on the Muzzy 2-1. If I put the muzzy on with a K&N drop in (using the stock box) is it going to run like poop until I jet it or will it just be slower than if I jet it.

If jetting is required, stage 1 or 3 and what's the difference.

Thanks,
Greg

You will probably have a weak part in your power band if you don't rejet. Send Muzzys an email to find out what they recommend. You can get their contact info at www.muzzys.com

K&N drop in + full exhaust is either going to be a stage 1 with large jets, or a stage 3 with smaller jets. There are many different setups you can get with a jet kit.

Anybody ever go to speeding.to/ex500? If so, what do you think about their local mech-guy, FOG? He stands against after market exausts and jet kits.

No tuning problems with your setup? Or, at least, not too difficult?

I'm running the Muzzy 2-1 with a drop in filter and Dynojet kit and it runs really nice now that I fixed the fubar'd float level from the last owners carb rebuild.
