i have a 1982 kawasaki 1100 spectre, and was wondering what years interchange for engine and electrical parts, i have a stator and windings going out and possibly the voltage regulator. an easy way to check if the stator and windings are good is to start and run the bike, then disconnect the battery and see if it stays running, right?? any help would be appreciated

No, you shouldnt do that Ever, might damage your CDI.
The best unique way is to check the battery charge , must be 12v +- when off, and when bike is running must increase 13.5, 14 v, if its not increasing your regulator is wrong, if it nincrease too much your rectidier is wrong. check also the spark is working ok in each cilinder. best luck |
