many peeps with better tread have fallen behind me keeping my pace.

is it the tread or the rider????
It always comes down to the rider. I usually dont ride all that hard anymore, but you never know what the road is going to throw you and when you have to make a more avasive move its nice to know the tires are not going to let you down.

I love these tire threads.... Well actually let me rephrase that, I love real world "On my bike" tire comparisons. Be sure to tell us the amount of Twisties, or just strait up strait lining you do.

With me I hit as many twisties as I can. However that amount is actually 20% of riding. Long commutes to get to them. Decent amount of ridding before I get a weekend to do it. I would love to here more about those tires.

will do gentelmen.
i have about a 30 mile commute to the twisties in my area and they stretch in all directions.
i'll get plenty of time to test them out before i have to swap them out.

i may not be able to get a full report of the amount of miles i will be able to put on them.
i'm going back to illinois in late june and i will want new tread for that ride.
after i return i may or may not switch them back, but i still think i will be able to have a decent review ready before that time.......maybe even a little bit of video

Default Update!!!

with a little over a 1000 miles on these treads i can say i am duly impressed...
they seem to hold thier own compared to the continentals i typically employ.

most of the miles have been back and forth to work, but some have been heavy twisties here in the colorado area.
just recently with these treads i have run pinewood ,stove prarie(where an assoociate of mine noted the gravel(sand) being spewed from the tires even in the clears sections),a run up US34 today(passenger included) and down US7 to lyons.
from there we made a spirited jaunt through US36 to estes from estes down US34 that has left me with little strips to show.
here are a few pics for clarification.

can't wait for warmer weather.

you can barely tell i have used them at all!!!

not even a noticable flat spot, but it is only 1k miles so far...

now to get rid of that CS from the front!!!

Looks like they held up well. Since you seem like the Conti expert here, I got a question...

I need new tires pretty soon for my 10 and I want to try Contis.. the thing is I want to be damn sure the tires will not slip. I put a lot of miles on so Road Attacks may be good for me, but the fact that they are 'sport-touring' tires doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Now I don't quite drag knees or anything, but I want tires that i KNOW will not slip. So that has been leading me to the Sport Attacks. Can I really only expect 3k miles out of Sport Attacks?

Can the Road Attacks handle a good lean angle without risk of slippage?

i have had many spirited runs with the conti roads and never had a case of slippage.
the 3k miles i got on the sport attacks is the fact that it was mid season and many spirited rides with them. as well as some commuting.
for instance, i have a 30 mile jaunt just to get to the twisties here and also a 10 mile jaunt back and forthe to work every day.
the road attacks themselves are very good at what they do,but your experience may vary.
heck..if you don't like them..i'll buy them back from you.

also think about trying out some of these "stradas"

so far so good

That is good you are enjoying the tires Daemon...I too will need new tires soon...I am looking at the Rossos and I can see why your were apprehensive trying another brand...I am so scared to try anything else but Corsa IIIs but need tires that will last longer...It was 80ish here yesterday and my tires took a beating. I checked the tires and there were areas balling up and definitely wearing quick. I need a bit longer wear.

update!!!
i have nearly 3k miles on these treads!!!

i'm liking them quite a bit.
they seem to be more agressive in their handling capabilites than the "contie road attacks!!!

J M O though.
i have all the faith that they will make it through my ride on the interstate to colorado to peoria, illinois.
i had originally considered changing them out before the the up and coming long ride, but with so much tread left on them for now.
i may just hold on to see what they are capable of.

you be the judge!!!
front!!!

rear!!!

i am aware that "pressure" can make abig difference on the longevity and the usefullness of "any" tread.
should i replace or run???

They held up...Thanks for the update. Pirellies are good tires...I could never attempt a switch...I am considering Michellins but as I said, I was never impressed with them enough to switch. I am considering the Pirelli Rossos though for my bike since they are geared for bigger powerful bikes and longer wear.

OK I joined you. I just ordered a pair of the new Dunlop RoadSmarts for the RT. Nothing wrong with the Conti Road Attacks and no complaints, just have been reading very positive reviews of the RoadSmarts

# Dunlop proudly introduces the Roadsmart™, an advanced sport-touring radial tire that elevates the class standard with remarkable wet-weather performance, exceptional mileage and sportbike handling.

# The best wet-weather performance of any Dunlop road tire, with long-lasting mileage to match.

# MT-Multi-Tread compound rear tire incorporates a long-wearing compound in the center of the tire tread and a lateral-grip compound on each shoulder to maximize cornering performance and provide class-leading grip and feel.

# Micro-sized carbon particles improve dry grip under acceleration, and wet grip is improved with a special silica additive.

# Cosecant-curve tread design with deep and long grooves to evacuate the maximum amount of water in both straight-line and cornering conditions.

The RoadAttacks have served me well and I have 16,000kms on them and they still have some life left in them but I have a trip coming up and wanted fresh rubber. Just curious to see if Dunlop's claim of a multi tread compound gives even better tire life.
