2008 Odometer Race

OK, guys and gals it's time to start riding again and time for the second odometer race.

the prize for the winner is going to be announced in a few days, after all the contributers get their money in.

Post your photo of your odometer to this thread on April 1 for the start of the race. The end of the race will be October 31.

This is a little longer than last year, supposedly the people in CA. need longer to get some miles in for some reason.

only one winner for all classes of bikes.

you can enter the mileage on all the bikes you ride but please put your own mileage on it.

I am going to post a word in each thread (the same word) for you to write on a piece of paper to have in the picture you post. I'll post the word before April 1.

ok, the word to put on a piece of paper for the start of the race is rotor.

I'm in...I've racked up some miles but not like I did on the 636. It is changing huge though and it seems the rains out here are definitely over.

Looks like I chimed in on the wrong "odometer race" thread last night -here's my copied post:

I won't have a bike until at least may when I think I should be able to ride safely.

Since it's just a handicap against myself, it shouldn't be a problem to join late, should it? That might give the Californians a better chance.

P.S. I'll pitch in 20 as well.

I'm not even going to try. You guys will school me. Last season, I was pretty proud of the 5k I put on my bike, though.

looks like there has been enough other people kick in on the prize money that we are turning it into a gift certificate at Beartooth Kawasaki.

once all the money is in I will change the first post to reflect how much the certificate will be.

So does the race start april then?? I started my riding 3 weeks ago at like 13,700 and now i have 14,800 , so i should just post up my odometer reading and start tonight? or post it april 1st then it starts? Ive done a little over 1k miles since i started

I think because some of us still have snow on the ground, he's starting it on April 1st. I posted mine early because I probably won't be able to ride until at least April 1st...

Idk if it's a big deal though, it's all for fun.

I'd rather the pictures not be taken till right before the race begins, they can be posted on April 1 or after, that part don't really matter.

the race is for fun but this year there is going to be a better prize than last year due to a few other members kicking in on the prize.
