Mcgrude,
I think a white paintjob would be sweet, that was one of the colors i considered while coming up with my paint scheme. As for the paint, Id be happy to help you out however i can. As for the Decals, if you cant find them i Can probably make them. I have a vinyl plotter for making lettering etc. I actually just came up with some ZX-600R decals. Ill post some pics when i get a chance.

Feel free to shoot me a PM to discuss this stuff.

For suspension settings, i have mine setup as follows : front AVDS is set on 2, rear damping is set at 3, and i am running 18psi in the rear shock. With the pirellis, the bike feels very stable.

Sebastian600,
Congrats on the new ride!

Yea DCP, that's a very smooth looking paint job. I'm going to paint my 600R pretty soon but I doubt I'll get the same results since I'll be using rattle cans.

Well guys, you are the 600c experts and I need some help.

I posted last year about a 600c I got for free:

http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...-post2007.html

Anyway, the guy who gave it to me came by a few weeks ago so we went out, me on my Concours 14 and him on his old 600c. He made it about 3 miles in his shorts and flip flops (yes really) until he ditched the bike around a tight curve. Minor cosmetic damage, luckily no bodily injury to him since he landed in soft sand / bushes.

However, now the tach, neutral light, temp and fuel gauges don't work. Bike still rides fine, I just took it out for the first time since he dumped it on me tonight, just the above mentioned things are not working. Speedo, turn indicators, and hi beam indicator work fine, as well as the dash backlighting.

I checked the fuses in the junction box under the seat, all 4 are fine. Anywhere else I should start looking?

Thanks!

Have you pulled the uppers to inspect the wiring in the back of the cluster? It may just be a pulled connector.

Oh and while I am at it... Here's the current status of mine :

The forks are out and ready to have the seals and oil replaced ($135). The brake calipers are pulled and ready for the piston seals to arrive for a rebuild. The front tire was replaced today and is ready to be reinstalled, pending the forks actually being on the bike The brake pads are on their way, BikeBandit.com sent the wrong ones the first time.

Nice. With the additional scratches I picked up when my buddy dumped it, I might pull mine apart over the winter and go for the streetfighter look. A couple round headlamps, stalk blinkers, see what I can do. I've seen a few here and they look good.

Well, my streetfighter is nearly finished. Still have to check the idle mixture settings, wire in the turn signals, then get the tags. Headlights were from a Yamaha ATV. Red bottle in front is the radiator overflow reservoir. Pod filters and stage 3 dynojet kit. guess thats about it. Still planning on painting the wheels, either red, black, or just clear on metal. possibly painting the calipers red too.

LOL indeed.

Yes it is in the disassembly stage. Although the only thing left to be removed and replaced is the front brake lines, and maybe I'll replace the horn.

I've decided to go ahead and have the brake lines replaced with braided since I got it this far. It is going to add two weeks to the rebuild due to budget constraints (next payday), but I think it is worth it. What else am I going to do? Another brake job during winter? Might as well do it now.

This was mine 2 weeks ago....

I got rear ended in santa monica. I replaced the subframe and she's back on the road. These really are tough bikes.....

I really like the Streetfighter. IMO, if you are going to run pods & a stage 3 jet kit, an aftermarket exhaust will really help, the stock exhaust is really restrictive and you might have a problem with the jetting. I put a V&H on with my Stage 3/pods and the engine loves it (go for the +4 degree ignition advancer too, it really smoothes the engine out, a well spent $60)

McGrude, replacing the stock lines with braided brake lines in a great idea, the braded lines rock, a must have on these bikes.

superfly, where did you get your braided lines? I'm currently saving up for a 4-1 exhaust and the ignition advance, also thinking of changing the chain/sprockets, but that can wait.

I had a couple of spare lines from a box of braded lines I bought, and they fit perfectly. I got lucky there.

I did not take any before pictures.. I was too ****ed. but I will post the after pictures when she gets cleaned... she is a little dirty right now!

Man, that must have sucked! Sometimes I think about that when a care comes up behind really fast to stop when I am at a light. At least you are on the road again. Speaking of which, I finally got my bike back from the shop for the brake job. What a ripoff. Next time, I will def. do it myself. Gotta stop being lazy and scared to work on these machines.

I am good, thanks for asking. I was on my way to work, and was at a stoplight making a right hand turn, and I was getting ready to go when I see an object fast approaching in my mirrors. Luckly I was in 1st gear w/ the clutch in, so when he hit me at about 15 mph (appx... it was enough to set off his airbag) it just jolted the bike forward, then with these deep seats, that jolt forward threw me into the front seat & gas tank. At first I raised my right hand with a WTF gesture, then the pain started to come... I had a bad case of massivewrackednuts. I hit the kill switch, put he kickstand down and got of the bike and hunched over to catch my breath.. (why does that happen??). The guy came out of his car over to me and was asking me if I was alright. I was still in full gear, so I just put my hand up and said "gimme a minute..."

There was not much damage to the bike (but a huge dent in his cars bumper... ) it was enough to require me to replace the subframe because it got tweaked, and I had to do some more fiberglassing on the tail. Luckly, he did not hit my exhaust (that baby is still new...) But the good news is she is back to normal now.

Well, glad you are ok man. Could have been much worse. And, of course, the fact that your bike is back on the road already ain't half bad either!
