I own a 95 ninja 600r (zx600c). Has 12,000 miles on it and just bought it 2 months ago used for $2100. Im new to the bike so I dont know much about it but every day im learning more and more from reading online and lookin up parts.
What sort of shape is it in? Color scheme?
Is it your first motorcycle? What do you think of the handling and power output?
I know you've only had it a couple months, but do you have any plans for mods?
A guy that I ride with has one( 93 zx600 c or d ). We clown him because the color is that gay red(pinkish) and purple. Another guy that I ride with sold him the bike. Its in good shape but one of the coolent hose blew when the first guy had it about three years ago and last fall with the other guy another went. So you may want to replace the hoses.

As of now with my zx600c its got the lime green color you see on most kawasaki's with some road rash from the original owner. As for mods when I bought it the guy already had a Vance&Hines SSR-2 Exaust on it, Stage 3 Jet Kit, Black tinted LP screen and not sure what else. The exaust sounds sweet just like any other 4cyl streetbike out there new or old.
My main concern now is to drop and place the oil with some good quality Mobil 1, (firm believer in it with my car), drop the coolant and replace, lube clean the chain, and just spot check her over. I just got a new clutch cable for it since got a tiny crack in it, and im in process of trying to replace the brake lines with a good set of SS ones.
As for the SS ones if I remember right Galfer sells them but I cant find a place online that has em in stock for the zx600.
bought a 96 zx6e for 1300 bucks, off cousin of mine... only thing i needed to do to it was replace front break pads, and new chain... other then that its great, exept smells like its running a lil rich... but i love how fast it is... has d&d exhaust, pretty loud.. sometimes too loud, but i love it
A 96 zxe for $1,300 is a good deal. It's much better designed than the zx600c.
Does anyone have pics?
thats most def. a good price for one being I paid $2100 for my zx600c.I just took mine out today for the first time had so much fun that I decided to take it out tonight in 45 degrees lol, what a mistake but I got a few questions concerning the bike.
One thing I noticed is that at 50mph it seems like the bike is hard to lean or to move out of the way of stuff fast is this just me not using enough manpower or is it cause the bike is heavier then what I learned on?
Bike seems like she gets a little bit squishy upfront when going fast not sure if its the tires though but overaul bike seems cool, its fast, sounds nice, and its comfortable for a ninja. I just did a quick jump on the battery today, spray the chain down, check the bulbs etc.. and took her out.
Never rode my freinds but he had the same problem about the bike getting spuirly at higher speeds and changed the tires and everything was cool until the hose going.

A buddy of mine blew the engine in his 1989 600c on our way to Daytona for Octoberfest, and I believe he is about to strip it out and put the parts on ebay. If anyone needs a part for one let me know and I will check and see if it is good on his bike and see what he wants for it.
Look Ma, I almost healed before I did it again, this time.
SouthJersey: if it's the first time you took it out, ride it a little more. I've never noticed that it was difficult to lean, or difficult to move.
The squishyness upfront may be for any number of reasons. Check the suspension settings and tire pressure. If I had to comment, I'd say the suspension sucks, and that's the problem.
In terms of being shaky at higher speeds, I'd say that's a wheel/tire problem; not a bike-specific problem (although it's not as stable at 100+ as newer bikes, because it has such small wheels).
How many miles did your friend's bike when the engine blew? Did he race it?
No, he didn't race it, but he rode it pretty hard. There isn't much that I would want from the motor, a rod is hanging out of the front of the case. Not to sure on the miles, I think it is in the 25,000 mile area though. We tore it down last night and started taking the pics for ebay. He also has a brand new set of Airtech fairings for a 1985 zx600. It's the one piece front upper and the belly fairing.

I have a 600 c1 1988 and i got mine got 1200. Replaced nothing when I got it and Im probably due for a tuneup cause I hit past 30k.
I took out my bike some tonight in the cold again, some around the block and flybyes down the street. I cant test this bike handling until I get my new tires on, right now I got a bald tire in the back and front is decent. I did notice that gunning the bike in 2nd gear tonight she would spin the rpms up but wouldnt move sometimes around 9000rpm, I assume this is cause the rear tire wasnt even biting and if it was she would start to lift off the ground. I assume the zx600 can lift the front wheel especially in 1st but im new to this so I aint tried yet.
Whitey, I'll take a look around, but there's nothing I need off the top of my head. Could you post here when you guys are going to list it on eBay? Too bad the airtech fairings don't match the 88-97 zx600c.
I bought my '89 for ~$1,000. That's what I like about these bikes: 600cc Ninja at a scooter price.
Is anyone able to hold a wheelie on these things?
I know you can clutch it in first for a slight pop, but can anyone ride them out in 2nd, or even 1st? How about with aftermarket gearing setups?
Does the side wear on tires matter as much as the middle wear? How long does it take for a C1 to chew up the rear tire on normal riding/cruising conditions. I know the bike is pretty torquey but not a burn out machine.
I'll post here and let you know where it is on ebay. He has a 1 piece Targa upper, but it has a crack by one of the mirrors. I don't think it is very big but we were drinking a little beer the other night when pulling it apart so I,m not to sure.

Hot Mama

Looks good Bhavesh! Where did ya get the seat cowl from?

So wait, for your turn signals are those the lockharts part # 122-9900? now what about the markers down below, thats the one thats busted on mine cracked lense. how would I go about getting a new one?
I need to ditch my turn signals for those flush mount ones just cause I have to squeeze the bike in and out of my gf's porch everytime I go out and other day the door shut and busted the one turn signal off lol. Black electric tape came to the rescue but I dont wanna be too ghetto on an older bike lol.
