uhhh I have no idea why you would want to do this, nor does kawasaki...

You can always unplug the wire harness...

Why would you not run the lights? Most people do the dual light mods but no lights? You live in Antarctica?

You're joking right....? It's called being SEEN. I can say this because I've done it, but there was a car without his headlights on and I didn't notice he was actually moving...also, I was riding my bike without the highbeam on and a lady cut in front of me because she thought I was in the other lane because of the low beam. Lights shinning in your eyes are much more visible than whatever color gear is moving towards the car.

But hey, if you want to have that attitude, two can play that game. I'll read about you when you're 6feet under.

By law (Federal and State), cars and bikes are supposed to have day running lights so people can see you coming up. Did you notice that most new cars have that? Just wondering...Leave it alone and put time into adjusting your clutch cable and shift lever...You'll get more out of that.

Yeah bro but the thing is the people saying that then have no clue about bikes...I know the link for the how to on a 10R but not on a 6R.

I used to get that all the time. My solution was to ride with the hi beams on during the day. Dual headlight setup is good. Riding with no running headlights is bad. Headlights and anything else that can legally make you more visible is your friend!

I ride with high beams on ALL the time. Daytime, nighttime, raining, etc.

WHATEVER IT TAKES TO BE SEEN! As a new rider, you'll sooner or later find out that people just plain DON'T SEE MOTORCYCLES!

I've had people pull up to me and wave me down and be like "You have a headlight out!" so I just started using the high beam 24/7.

I ride both on as well. We had a thread here about this a while back.

I ride with both on as well. It sounds like you are new to motorcycles so if there's one thing you learn from the thread, cars do NOT see motorcycles. You need to ride like your invisible and don't put yourself in a situation where it's even harder for a car to see you.

I agree fully and know all too well but cars dont see bikes well especially old people. No offense to any old people in here but these guys were seriuosly way old and didnt see me and pulled out in front of me. I know in alot of states its a law that a motorcycle has to have a light on at all times. If any one finds out about the double headlight thing PM me or post it because i want to do it too. Im also sick of people being like you got a headlight out. Then I ride with high beams and get flashed by oncoming traffic and get blinded by it. Either way man keep the lights on for real.

It is being hammered home, but lights are all about being seen. That is one reason I'm not so hot on flush mounts, undertails, LED signals and other things that look cool, but IMO can decrease visibility.

I know of several people who have died as a result of accidents... most unfortunately were single vehicle accidents, but two were from the dreaded car turning in front of you as if you didn't exist, there's no time to do anything scenario.

Keep your lights on for safety reasons but also remember, a moto cop will write you a ticket for it quick. I was riding my bike and I checked the bulb before I left and some time during the ride, my bulb blew out and I didnt know and I pulled up behind a moto cop at a light and he turned around and told me to turn that damn light on!! Luckly my high beam still worked.

In the streets, I keep the highbeam off and pay close attention to the riding zones that the MSF course taught us. If there are vehicles that are starting to roll to make either their right or left turn in the 4 to eight second zone, I flash the high beam quickly a few times...it seems to get people's attention a little better with the high beam being off initially as opposed to on. And if they're still rolling by the time they're almost in the 4 second zone, I rev the engine like a mo-fo and that hasn't failed yet with the Z1 and the Leo pipes.

If I'm on the freeway in the HOV lane and I'm going faster than the flow of traffic in the "regular" lanes, I will keep the high beam on all of the time...especially during dusk and at night.
