Default Yamaha TTR 125 LE is gone YZ 85!!!

Traded the 2007 TTR 125 LE straight up with a guy for a 2007 YZ85...His kid wanted a less powerful bike and I wanted something with more umph. The bike needed plastics (not really as they were just scratched) all around but that was it...Just got them and put them on...Got a new tank from eBay for $90 so put that as well (there was a scratch I could not live with - yes I am vain)...Put on new bar, grips, changed out the throttle assembly, lever (waiting on clutch side), clutch perch, changed air filter (what a mess with oiling a filter), bought a new seat cover and changed it, cleaned every part of the thing...just waiting for new front brake cable, graphics kit (undecided) and that is it...I was tired by days end but happy with the results.

Good thing is it is taller than the TTR 125 LE and has more travel by a huge margin.

The thing freaking screams (has FMF exhaust that is insane loud) and is pretty fast...Pretty powerful little bike as the front likes to come up...Red sticker tho So August is when I can ride it at Carnegie.

Give me a Tuesday to post pics (I did everything yesterday took pics of when everything was off the bike) as I have meetings all day tomorrow.

I was happy with the trade.

SOunds like you got a fun little toy to go tear up the dirt with. My Cr125 needs just as much work when I get back so I get that to do. Well I have to rebuild the engine so a bit more work I guess. By the way do you know of any good places to buy dirt bike parts?

I went to my shop...I get a huge discount because of referrals. Plus there is no where else I would go to get anything done on my bike...The pain in the *** was the tank...Jeez that fuel hose was a pain to remove. Also, the bolts on the controls are phillips and I had to actually drill one out because I stripped the head of the screw trying to remove it. I also stabbed my hand in the process hahaha. Was a lot of work but the bike came out nice. Aftermarket plastics don't fit as well that is for sure...My front fender seems to be make crooked...Can't have that so I am going to get a oem one from Honda...The fork protectors were a pain as well...Seemed the holes were just off a tad but still workable...Everything was Acerbis except the fork guard which were UFO...The tank was OEM Yamaha. The seat was crazy to put on since there is little room to use the staple gun to put the fabric on. Now to decide on a graphics kit.

So why cant you ride it until August? On mine I have to put a new cylinder, ring, sleeve, front and rear fender, new graphics because the old are scratched up like crazy and the chain needs to be replaced too. So I will have fun with all that.

California emissions law...Green sticker bikes are year round...Small 4 stroke bikes like the TTR are all year and any bike made pre 2002...Anything after is Red sticker...Red bad green good.

Not being able to ride it 3 months is not bad...But I just got it and cleaned up everything and so badly want to go take it out on a larger course. The trails behind me are fun but I am talking just letting it rip open...The trails behind me is more trail riding which is good for learning gearing on a bike....Yeah CA is silly in a sense.
