Default new here

I am so jittery I can not sleep. I am picking up my bike tomorrow. I have not rode street in 15 years!! My hubby bought me a Ninja 636 for Mother's Day. He is not a rider so I have to pick it up. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!!!

It is all black, 2006, flush signals (is that what they are called) less than 3000 miles, never tracked and never downed.

Hopefully some baddass pics will be available tomorrow at this time.

Welcome to the forum, you'll love it here, and most of all enjoy your new ride!!!

Which, BTW, doesn't formally exist until you post pictures of it here

Wow, it is great to see locals on this board! Hopefully we can ride together soon. Unfortunately I am not getting my bike today. : ( The seller is unavailable.

In the late 80's I rode a GSXR1000 and before that I rode my Seca 550 four seasons full-time. I have the past street riding experience and I am an awesome dirt rider.

Hopefully I will have the bike and pics later this week.

Cool! Some locals here...A lot of them are on SBR or BARF...Not into either of those places though.

Congrats and welcome to the board! You'll love the bike although it's no liter but has plenty of power. I ride dirt also so we have a lot in common other than I'm on the opposite coast Take care and be careful.

That is for sure.

It is also certain that an 06 636 has more power than an 80s Gixxer 1K

I am on both SBR and BARF. I rarely post up on BARF as I was never successful finding riding buddies there. I have not announced to SBR that I am getting a street bike but all of my regular riding buddies, including Andy, know that I am getting a ninja.

You are scaring me! Did I get something too big? I was looking at a Ninja 250. It was hit in a parkinglot. The fairings were trashed but it was a structurally good bike. It was offered for a few hundred dollars. My riding buddies all said that bike was too small for me.

I know that bike technology has advanced so much since I was last out there. I do not want something that I will outgrow too soon. I do not want something that is going to get me into trouble.

Knowing you ride a 250 dirtbike ...You will be fine on a 636.

The 636 is a great bike. You can putt around in the lower rpm's if you want and it does just fine. The first time you open her up You'll be hooked.
