Exclamation 250r is a rare catch!

So I have 2000 bucks saved up for a down payment and I've been workin my credit score pretty good. I had just got quoted for the 250 on my insurance and signed up for my MS class...everything was lookin peachy. I drive up to Madison thinking, Wow I'm really getting my ninja. I get there and all I see are the 07's and 500's. They must have them in another part of the store... Nope. Turns out thats the way it is in every dealership within 200 miles of here. (Madison area WI). I want a black one, heh but no one will have a black one until august. Red is the runner up and I cant have that until July. Talk about the wind dying out of my sails. I can't stand the look of the 07's and the 500's(no offense they havent changed much since the 80's ), yet the 650 is just out of my price range. ha, i guess good things come to those who wait.

If you're hell bent on the new 250, wait it out... they are tough to come by.

If you can get financed on the 650R that is a good ride to start and grow on...I see more of those here...I rarely see 250s.

+1 I have yet to see an 08 250r either in a showroom or on the road.

Really? That sucks... A couple months ago I saw some 250s. I know that 1 month ago Vetesnik's in Richland Center (75miles west of madison) had 1 08 250 on the floor. Must have sold... Did you check Hanley in Sun Prairie? They are going out of business so they probably dumped a lot of their inventory already.

Wait it out if that's what your heart is set on, and keep looking around. Something is bound to turn up eventually. I've seen quite a few of those buzzing around here. Last time I was at a dealership I didn't see any on the floor, and one day I saw three of them parked outside a dealership on my way to work. When I went home that day they were all gone - don't know if they sold or what.

Hunh!
It must be a reginal thing.I was look'n at three of them today, red, blue, and lime green. No breaks like usual,MSRP $3499,they must be hot you can get under MSRP on everything else.I just got a 08 ZZR6 for $6399.
Looks like a cool little bike.I wish Kawi would put a wider set of rims and tires on it,but going to 17" rims is a good start.
Would make a great track day toy!Or a sunday moring backroad flicker.

I had the same problem in illinois But i somehow got lucky and found my green one at one of the last dealerships i had to call in the northern half of illionis I looked EVERYWHERE...the guy was like i have two left one gren and one blue after that your waiting till the end of june or JULLY.
I took the day off work to go buy the thing over an hour away because i knew if i waited they would have both been gone the next day...one dealership i talked to ( i believe chicago cycle or banzai motorsports) told me they had 15 of em and sold them all in 3 days !!!
best thing to do is get a deposit down and get your name on one.
Good luck and it will definetly be worth your wait if its the bike you relly have your heart set on.

they aren't lasting long in the dealerships up here either. Seen a couple on the road, look like nice bikes.

If you can find one on ebay just go get a personal loan at a credit union you wont have any problem getting them they are practicly giving loans away to help the whole ressision .insurance will be cheaper on a payed off bike. But you might not get a warrenty on the bike like you would at a stealership. I seen a few on ebay and a few on craigs list.

Looks like I'm getting a black 08' one from sales guy Pete at Maxxx Motorsports. Hes going to put my name on it and I guess its as good as mine... in July . I liked the idea about the loan fitbmxseries1. Ill definitely be looking into that. So far he quoted me at 90 bucks a month for 24 months with 2000 down. 3900 Out the door with TTL. Its as good as it gets around here. If theres any other advice I'd love to hear it!
