Default Oil at Wal Mart

I am looking for the proper oil I can get at WAL MART for the Ninja 500.
I believe Rotella is a great choice but I want synthetic.

10w-30 or 15w-40 would be fine as long as it is not 'energy conserving'.
I use M1 15w50 in my DL1000 but this bike sits outside and is used more in cooler weather so a 15w-50 might be too much for it.

Last oil change I used M1 Racing 4T but the dam stuff costs like $9/qt now

any diesel synthetic you'll find at wal-mart is going to be a 5w-40. I believe I paid $29.95 for a gallon of Spectro full synth at my Kawi dealer, so your mileage may vary....

How cold are we talking here.
I've been using M1 15w-50 almost exclusivly for the past 16,000+ miles from temps of 35F - 105F, on the street and on the track.

Ya, I'm not sure about the inlines, but on the Vulcan twins, per the owner's manual, 20w50 is good down to 32 degrees, so 15w40 would be good at least that low... HOWEVER, the 15w40 Diesel oils are not synthetic.
5w40 would be good from well below zero up to about 100 degrees.

Rotella 5W40 synthetic or the Rotella 15W40 dino oil. Good oils and not $9/qt.

+1

I've used the 5W40 synthetic during several change intervals for all the bikes in my sig. I'm using the 15W dino oil right now and am pleased with the results thus far.

Have used Mobil Racing 4T and Repsol before with positive results, but they don't seem to provide results any better than the Wally World stuff.
