That must have been incredibly embarassing. Was that a Gix 1K he was on? I cant remember but man it got away from him quick...dumbarse. I could swear that guy is on steroids cause when the show first started he looked way skinnier.

O believe me, by no means am I worried about losing, I just think it is so funny that he thinks he can win, I mean dont get me wrong, he has a decent car but by no means is it "that" decent. I figure I would share the story. I highly doubt he will even go through with it, hes one of those who talks alot of game but cant put his money where his mouth is. If it does happen, I will let you guys no how it turns out. Dont get your hopes up though, he wont go through with anything.

The first time I went to N.E.Dragway there was a silver (iirc)present generation diesel ram that belched black smoke on it's way to low 13's.... I think it took me 4 or 5 minutes to scrape my jaw off the floor....

even then, no match for a ZX11...

I wouldn't put him down, if you're not planning on going through with it if he wins.....by some remote possibility.

I have a friend who always asks me to ride my bike everytime I see him. To begin with he picked on it for being a 250, calling it a little dirt bike, then asks if he can ride it! I always tell him no. I don't want anyone riding my bike. Hubby is the only one I trust, and he doesn't like riding it anyway, he's way too big for it. I wish people would get the hint, and just take no for an answer.

My 88 CRX Si, with I/H/E, big injectors, cam, and .030 over pistons only ran mid-13's. You should have no problems.

But you should plan on honering your bet, just in case.

Does your friend even know how to ride a motorcycle????

You should have asked if you could ride his gf/wife when he asked to ride your bike. Would have shut him right up and let him know how you felt.

ive had plenty of people ask if they could ride my bike, or just sit on it. some people i will let sit on it, but there are FEW i would let ride it. i know one guy actually...i trust him, because he could fix it if he broke it and would honor it as well, but he likes his Harley and isnt a sport type person.

one kid asked if he could ride it though, and i looked him square in the face and told him "**** no!" hes an idiot to the nth degree, thinks his Grand Am SE is a sports car (lawlz!), and makes up stupid things like "i was in advanced classes in high school, but i dropped out because i was too smart!" i wont even let him sit on it because if he dropped it he would be dead!

my bike demands respect...i know few people who would give her the respect she deserves! always remember that...most people dont care if they break your mirror off, or scratch up the fairings. if i do it thats one thing, but if someone else does it...whole different ballgame!

thats why i was wondering if it was swapped...if he had a fully built B18, maybe an H22 (would that fit? LOL) and nitrous he might have a little competition.

My standard answer to such situations:

"What part do you not understand, is it the 'N' or the 'O'?"

Seen a few in the 11's here...they would launch in 4x4 and switch to 2x at the 1/8th or so...fun fun!

alot of people around here have a case of " what ever car i own is the fastest thing on the street" but when they go to the track they usualy realize how slow they are against some real built up cars.or bikes lol Id really like to get my bike to the strip and slap a zzr6 sticker over the zx9r one and see some confused faces...

The lane boss at NED will have fun w/ guys like that sometimes... you'll see some "proud as a peacock" Z06 owner get paired up against some half primered mustang that just happens to rip off a low 10...

You should be fine... had a moment of squidliness on my way home from a week long road trip and dropped the hammer on them. Rolling 65mph start.... left them like they never even tried on my teeny little 600. It had a "Hemi" in it. Otherwise I just flat out tell people they aren't riding my bike... no races for it, bets, promises, etc.

LOL there is no way you will lose unless you make a mistake. i mean he lost to a diesel... LOL they have torque but not nearly the horsepower to go fast... if its a single cam engine its not even worth racing. trust me i have a built 00 civic hatch in my garage all ready for a complete turbo set up. and everything else you can think of. and even after all that with slicks and lsd i was hoping to run high high 12's LOL.

so if he is running N/A its a joke. it takes alot to make a crx fast. they are rated at 106 hp stock! thats if its an si. if its a dx its only like 93hp i think.

although since i bought my bike the honda is up for sale LOL, gotta sell it so i can get a brand new 600 next year. you can go way faster on a bike for the same amount of money and have waay more fun doing it.

A built ZC (JDM 1.6 twin cam) with a turbo might break into the low 12's. B18 would be doable with some serious work. But an H22 would require A LOT of fabricating to even shoe-horn into a 2nd gen CRX. That car was never intended to drag race. Put it on a road course, and thats a whole other story!

hey, some people shoehorn VQ35DEs into Sentras (the 3.5 liter V6 from the Altima/Maxima into a Sentra...think about that! LOL). i could see an H22 in a CRX. i actually thought that if i still had my 87 Accord i would have put an H22 into it...wouldnt have been super fast but would have surprised a few people im sure!

and yes, i agree about the road course! IMO Hondas were never really meant for the drag strip. the performance engines make all their power in the high RPMs, and the engines are horrible in low and low-mid performance. get them up where the VTEC takes over and keep it there and theyre great though. problem is most people just dont know how to drive 'em.

S2000's are sexy cars and id love to have one

Hmmm.... I wonder just how much work it would be to drop the 3.5 into my SeR SpecV?!?

I think the H22 would be a tighter fit into the CRX though. When I had my Si, I frequented a CRX board, and their was a guy trying that swap. Don't know if he ever finished it, but he was having TONS of issues. Apperently, the engine bay was just physically too small. Lots of cutting and fabricating was needed. And unless you were going in a straight line, the weight of the H22 would make handling very tricky.

The CRX's never came stock with the V-Tech(that I know of). They were all D15/16 mills, depending on generation. For it's time, the D16 actually made decent low/mid-range power. It was a fairly torquey motor for a small 4 banger. More so than my 95 Miata (talk about a car that really needs revved).

I kinda miss my old 88 Si. It was the perfect autocross/trackday/backroad toy. Cheap and easy to fix, bullet proof drivetrain, and just a blast to drive hard.
