Default Had an interesting challenge

So Im at work and one of my co-workers has been nagging me and nagging me to let him ride my zx11. I told him no a thousand times and told him to not waste any more oxygen asking that question because it will put another hole in the ozone layer. Any ways, today he decides to ask again so I said, "you can ride if you can beat me in a race at the dragstrip" He took me challenge. Now mind you he will be racing me in a late 80s model honda CRX. Dont get me wrong, he has built the motor up pretty strong, he claims he runs race fuel through it and has a 200 shot of NOS in it. How true that is, I dont know, I dont really care. I have no intentions of letting him ride it period, win or lose but he doesnt know that. At this point, there is just no way he would win this race. We shall see when that day comes.

you shouldn't have any problems smokin him with your zx11, assuming you know how to ride it. good luck and let us know how it turns out.

depending on the motor (is it stock, or swapped?) and if he has race slicks it may be close. those hondas can be fast if done right...and thats a big IF! but if he doenst know how to drive then you should win no problem. just take him off the start!

I could not imagine you losing....its a front wheel drive car, so regardless of HP, he wil lack launch traction.

But if you do lose, say you stall, or have to get out of the throttle for whatever reason, you should honour your agreement.

To me its not good to make a deal, unless you plan to follow through with it.

If it was me, and i won the bet, and you welched I would likely be more than a bit ****ed.
I never bet on something and plan to not honour it if i should lose.....if i did welch i would be expecting a good asswhooping at the very least.

I beat a guy in a car drag race, that then decided he did not want to pony up when he lost.
I told him to pay the cash, or he would be walking home .......if he was not prepared to pay IMO he should not be making bets.

He then paid up.....and he was also know as the loser that tried to welch.
He now gets about as much respect, as an ant would at a picnic.

+1 Saleen is right: don't make a bet that you don't plan to honor. I think you need to modify the stakes: if he loses, you get to use his car for a week starting from the moment he delivers it to your house after losing the race and he has to give you $50 for gas...no ands, ifs or buts.

i would say at the VERY BEST he is running 14.0xx keep in mind that i has NO torque and around 110hp stock. even with nos / turbbo / slicks / full bolt on , its a SLOW car.

This is a small front drive car.....unless it has insane drag slicks, and he is an exceptionally good driver, the car basically stands no chance.
If the car makes a 1,000 HP, it will just spin for so long its crazy....or the driver is pedalling like mad trying to get some traction.
So the chances of it being a car capapble of beating his bike is very little.

Then again does aftermath have lots of strip experience......maybe he has no idea how to launch either....but if aftermath does lose.
He needs to simply hand over the keys, and tell the guy to have a nice ride on his bike.
If thats the bet, thats the bet....no ifs about it.

Anything can happen in a race. If for some reason you lose the race, you have to let him ride your bike. A bet's a bet. Most important question now is...what is his level of experience riding bikes? My rule of thumb is I NEVER let anyone ride my bike, unless it's absolutely necessary, like some kind of emergency. If he rides it, all it takes is a patch of sand or whatever, and he drops it...you know the rest. And since he's a nag, that would REALLY s*ck to have HIM of all people drop it! Just my .02.

i dunno check out some vids of the crx's on youtube, Some very nicely built ones hit 9's but i have a feeling that his isnt one of those. You know what your bike can run? probably high 9s right? or low 10s? but if i was a betting man i would put my money on you.

If that guy has dragged before and you have not, I see him sitting on your bike for a ride.

Let us know who wins. And like the other guys said, if you lose you really should honor your bet.

The sad thing about it is he doesnt have slicks on it, just plain ol tires, and hes one of those he talks more than he acts so I guarentee he wont show. Not to mention he got beat badly from one of my buddies. He was driving his CRX and my buddy was driving his 2006 dodge ram 2500 diesel. lol It was funny

So a big heavy diesel truck beats his little car, and your even remotely concerned about losing.....I cannot see how you could lose, unless you crash.
Just do not pull a "Rich from Pinks" and you are laughing.
