As far as shaving the stock seat, you could try to do it yourself, or call different custom bike shops or an upholsterer.

I got my motorcycle alarm hooked up today, but wasn't able to hook up the blinkers to it or hook it into the kill switch (so the engine gets cut when the alarm goes off) because I don't know which wires are which. Does anyone know if there's a diagram of the 2008 ninjette's wires? Which color wire for which component or something close? I'm trying to find out without having to bust out my multimeter and unplug and check each wire individually. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

Hey everyone. Been reading these threads for the last 3 days (yes I actually went through all 59 pages). Currently I have an Eliminator (yeah I know pretty wimpy), but I only have recently started riding (only about 2 months now). I plan on upgrading to a Ninja 250 next month, I'm ready to get my feet wet on the highway (and I'm tired of having to ride the long way around town to get to campus when I can take the highway and be there in 8 mins vs 28 via town).
My problem is that the shop has one 07 in stock (my color too... the candy plasma blue), but could possibly get an 08 in (in my color). I have been researching the two bikes since I got home from overseas and can't make up my mind which one I want. The 08 seems great cause of the fuel gauge (i still can't believe I ran outta gas with the 'Liminator), the adjustable suspension (i'm only 5'3"), and the added storage area for my lock. But the 07 of course is cheaper and its actually in stock (at least it is everytime I ride by to glance at it through the window), I know i can figure out the milage (been doing pretty good on the 'Liminator). But i'm sooo stuck on the choice. I've got about 300 miles under my belt already (actually rode today for almost 2 hours) and I'm getting anxious the closer I get to the actual date when I can call my bank and get my financing. So what do ya'll think... 07 or 08?? |

08, gotta love the look of that 08, and like you said it does have a lot of bang for the buck, but it comes down to which one you like the best, putting in a little extra money will be worth it months down the road...bottom line, make sure its the one YOU want and not the one your WALLET wants
good luck on your new purchase!

[quote=norider;1081272]Here is my 08
![]() QUOTE] those are some great pics. wish i could see the blue one up close like that. anyone got a blue 08 and a blue 07 they can take some up close pics of. it would really help with my choice of which one to get. any pictures i've ever seen of the 07 have all been brake side, and not clutch side which sucks cause i can't remember if it has dual exhaust pipes and what not. *sigh* the time is getting close and i'm seriously anxious. |

Other 250 owners out there, have you noticed any trouble tripping stop lights? Every now and then when I'm in town I'll sit through a couple cycles of a light until a car pulls up with me and trips it... am I the only one?

This is a general problem for bike riders. There is another thread somewhere in another section with more anecdotes and advice regarding this issue. I usually wait for a car or more to pass by and get in the left turn lane before I pull out of my parking space at work! And sometimes, if there are no cars, I just turn right and find someplace to pull a legal u-turn!
