I checked the brake pad, and I don't think it's catching the rotor, the marking against the rotor looks consistent with the rear.. unless they're both catching which would suck. The sound is consistent, always there until I get to high enough speed that I can't hear it.

I'll check the torque on my front nut and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm going to repaint my 250 soon. I was thinking of doing it in black with red accents (to match my helmet), but it might make it too invisible on the road. Does anybody have good (or bad, I don't care) suggestions on colors? I want something visible, but not too flashy.

Well if you have a good side view of your bike I might be able to work something out in Corel Painter, give you an idea of what it will look like. I did it with mine a bunch of times, trying to decide on a paint design I wanted.

Hey Keyda, the bike looks great! It's a nice, simple, classy style. I was waiting to see what your seat cover was going to look like on the bike, as I am weighing the options on what color to get.

Did you - or anyone else - have a problem with the pin striping going around the balancing weights on the tires? I want to put them on but then I noticed the weights and haven't thought of a solution yet.

I got some grip puppies from California Sport Touring. They're just about $8 shipped. They go over your current grips. I found them to be too thick for me, the diameter was too great for my hands, but you may like them.

Um, red with black accents?

I find the red paint really helps me be more visible. I like that.

Thanks, and the weights on my tires are on the bottom portion, the wheel tape went on the side, so I had no interfernce.

I rode with the PA chapter today for part of their 4 day ride. I filled up a few miles before meeting them and was near the back of the pack. They were mostly Vulcans. Riding a Ninja 500R like a Vulcan I got 71 mpg. Riding it like a Ninja I get 48 mpg. But either way it still beats the 10 mpg truck that I haven't been driving in a couple of months now except to pull the camper.

That is a big swing in numbers based on riding style.

In low light hours red is not the best color.

The best colors are bright ones, yellow, Kawi green, white... even pink!

I think a cool paint scheme would be flat black with bright yellow or Kawasaki Green trim. The flat black paint would never need to be waxed!

I hardly ever ride in low light, so during the day the red is great. BUT, I have thought about getting some of the night reflective graphics in the same color as my bike so they don't show during the day but at night with light on them they jump out!

We recently did a six-day road trip, and I sometimes got 65 mpg depending on the route! It was incredible and made for a very inexpensive trip!

I forget where I saw 'em, but someone makes stickers that are black except when reflecting directly, at which point they're retro-reflective. Here it is; a few strategically-placed decals will be virtually unnoticeable during the day and stand out at night (well, assuming the approaching vehicle has its headlights on).

Does anyone know what size Xena disc lock fits the 250 (2006)? For some reason, the drop-down on Xena's site does not show the 250?? I'm not picking mine up until tomorrow, and I really want to order the lock now. TIA!

Dowco Rally Pack Value Sport Saddlebag

I have the Dowco Rally Pack. They seem to work pretty good. I found mine on Ebay.

Looks good, how does it ride? I have to get some pics of my bike tomorrow, I did some more painting tonight, since it was raining all night. I put some mesh grill stuff in the fairing vents a couple days ago too. I think I'm finally done appearence wise, I'll post up pics tomorrow.
