I bought the Cortech sport saddle bags and a larger Cortech tail bag than the sport tail bag. I tried a friend of mine's bags out on the 500R before ordering my bags. I should have them in on Monday. I am going on a small road trip for a few days for some Navy training. The weather is not looking too good for the trip either. I am going to have to get me some rain gear.

The Cortech bags are really wonderful. I didn't even have mine expanded all the way—gee, I could have bought more souvenirs! hehe Have a safe ride…and yes, be prepared with some rain gear. The bags should have come with covers. |

plugs, vavle clearance, oil change, electronics, clogged carbs, rich mixture? I mean it could be alot, start with the simple stuff then work your way down to the nitty gritty

I need info...
My bike has shut down on me twice so far. First time I wrote it off as not warmed up when I pushed it.( or someone turned my gas off at work ) Second time I was cruising at 110 with no prob. I goosed it just to see how much more gas I had left to max and it just died. I had been at 110 for only a few seconds and I was at normal running temp. It would crank but not fire. After a few times I used the choke and it started and ran normal. So Im wondering... Did I somehow flood the carb when I goosed it ?

Here is a picture from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. I have the Cortech bag set and my backpack netted down over top. I stopped and enjoyed the sea breeze and ate my lunch before making the mad dash back to Philly. It was a good thing I took my rain gear along for the trip too. I was fine on the ride down and back but the time in between I got wet every time I got on the bike.
Georgetown, MD I met a Police Officer who said he didn't care how fast you rode through his town because he rides too and don't mess with the bikes. It is also Bike Week in the DELMARVA Peninsula this week. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Carl722 : 09-13-2008 at 12:30 AM. |

Great post and love the photo's. I am thinking about getting rid of my 2 bros slip ons for they are tooooo loud. Go here Trip to Georgia's Guide Stones - LiveVideo.com. The question is will I have to redo my carbs if I put the stock ones back on?

I guess the four most important things I can think of quickly is; number (one) learn how to use both brakes instead of just 1 -- especially in an emergency stopping situation. Number 2 -- -- learn how to ride ahead instead of just riding at the point you are at now. Don't get caught up in the cheesy and immature horsepower trap. Learn how to do your own maintaince. Oh yes, learn that motorcycling is a lot more than just knee dragging

i am currently waiting for the 09 250 ninjas to come out (arizona) which will hopefully be the end of september...
i understand that these bikes r one of the best beginner bikes u can get (not to mention the sick deal your getting for it... (about 5000 with tax and everything else)) i just had some questions about it tho... i was thinking to get EITHER a yoshi full system or two brothers (if they come with full system) but i dont know what to get... i like sound AND performance. so if anybody has experience with either or both, i would love to get ur feedback. another thing, would it be worth it if i got... werkes fender eliminator, dynojet jet kit, and progrip tank protector (i really dont know what it does but it looks cool) |

schatzy and danwin
Opinions are like posteriors, every one has one, some just have a more bodacious odor than others -- smile. This is what I have done to my 07 ninja 250. Different tires, stainless steel braided brake lines and new pads. Progressive springs, new valves and fluid. Full carburetor kit, two Brothers exhaust and KN air filters. Handlebar risers, tank protector and Gel seat.. coffee cup holder, tom-tom Rider, locking cruise control and pro oiler. A friend of mine has the yoshi full system. Both me and my friend have agreed that we have wasted a lot of money needlessly on the exhaust systems, but my friend is 62 and I am 73. The money that was well spent was on the tires, brake lines, pads, progressive springs, Gel seat (oh yes), and handle bar risers -- -- I say coffee cup holder but he doesn't agree, to each its own.

Hi guys,
Im from Chile - Southamerica, and used to have Yamaha 650 dragstar and 1.100 dragstar i sold like 5 years ago. Im planning on going back to bikes in about 5-6 more years and will look for Kawasaki Sport bikes .... The thing is that "right now" my wife asked me to buy a small scooter to go on daily basis to my work so i left he car for her (lol !!), but instead of scooter im thinking into a 250cc bike. Right now, my main choices are Hyosung 250R (about US$ 6.000) and Kawasaki Ninja 250R (US$ 6.600) yeah laugh about it, thats the pricing of bikes around here So, i would like to have opinions about wich way to go (pleeease dont tell me that for the use i inted to give to the bike its better a scooter lol !!), thanks in advance, Pato Concha Chile - Southamerica |
