In all seriousness though - you are 100% right. The bike runs very cool on the highway. Apparently the fact I have 3 decades of MOTO experience doesnt mean I am 'fast', it means I am 'too old' to go 'fast enough' to keep my bike temerature below the flashing red light. At some point all the years of experience just means I am 'old & slow' so I better stop bragging about all my decades of "blah, blah, blah!!" I just didnt think it would be at the tender, young age, of only 37! My father didnt start AMA roadracing until he was just over 50 and somehow he is still extremely fast. Like embarrass young kids - fast - as he flies by on his old junky Canadian model 'team butthead' RZ350 - right past all the super high tech, super ultra whizz-bang, major high dollar- late model 600cc machines, HHHHAHHAHAHHA... Crushed many a viagra artificially enlarged ego that old man. Even a few 'skilled' riders been skooled by the old man over the years.. Last edited by oahutodd : 10-10-2008 at 12:47 PM. |

I have an 06 10r same as the 07. I also hated the heat comming up from the stock exaust really cooking the tail section. Plus just dont believe in having any extra weight on a bike that it doesnt need. So I installed an "AREA P" single up exaust carbon graphite exaust. Problem solved. You can put your hand on that thing right after a scalding ride and theres no heat. I live in So Cal and know all about heat, and agree with others here. You actually have to ride it to keep it cool. The 10r is by far the best bike I have ever had or ridden.

I love the 14 and the 10 but just this summer I got my ZX12 for $1,700 then I turned around and sold my 86 GSXR 1100 (did not run) for $1100. So in the end I only paid $600 for my 12. I get simular power with less handling features of the other bikes but I don't have a bike payment! So for this father of 6 children 5 of which are in thier teens. My 12 was delivered directly from heaven!!!! LOL!![]() |

Did anyone know that Freddie Spencer's school has folded for now? There are reports that he was having "personal problems" (divorce, spending), he has reportedly not paid his instructors, and some students might have lost their deposits? Honda has "Repoed" all the bikes. The company does not answer. I lost some money in airfare. Complete silence.

I have a 2007 Z1000. When I shift up from first to second and then third and so on the shifter won't return to the normal position. I have to tap it to get it to reset so I can shift again. This only happens when up shifting. Works fine when I down shift. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this or what might be wrong? Have any of you experienced this problem. Thanks

my buddy does, and he dropped the exhaust system and replaced it with titanium I think with akro slip on, and a power commander. It is stupid fast. The system that came on it weighed 50 plus pounds so he also lost that weight. I have a c14 and all i can see is his taillights on a clear day about two miles ahead. man. ride hard

Can't find time to ride

I found a new 2005 ZZR 1200. It only shows 2.4 miles on the odometer. $6,800. What do you think? I am really itching to trade the 500R for it. My wife didn't like me getting the 500R and she said no about it and she said it again. I don't know if I can get away with it twice in a year. I already have 5,200 miles on the 500R and I have ridden for over 20 years so I am not inexperienced. I think it would only be $35 a month more on my current payment.
