apprently i havent noticed alot of people here having a z1000. but i got a few questions abt it. i just moved from colorado from az abt a month ago. ive been having some power issues. since its fuel injected i thought it would eventually come as the computer adjusted to the altitude but it hasnt. it feels sluggish in the mid rps but as i get higher it kicks up. i dont know quite what to do. should i just take it into a kawi dealership and get it tuned or see what they can do or anyone got some tricks up there sleeves to fix this fustrating problem. and how i can kinda figure this i am loosing abt a munit to a minut and a half on my lap times on the track. i know its a different track but everything feels sluggish. thanks in advance for any help

I'd check your bikes sensors to see if they are in spec to your shop manual. What year of bike? Clean air filter?Clean fuel filter? Tried another brand of sparkplug? I've found that the NGK's quality has slipped, so I'm using either Accel or Denso sparkplugs.

its a 2003 kawi z1000, i bought the bike a couple of months ago so i checked the air filter it was basically brand new, fuel filter prob could be changed just in high hopes, and the spark pluges i cleaned so there nice and shiney. but other than that i havent really done much. i should prob see abt the timing on the bike. it is a 2003 but it should have any effect from moving from colorado to pheonix

Im the proud new owner of a 2011 ZX10r superbike. This is the first bike ive ever owned. I am wondering if anyone can find aftermarket parts such as an undertail kit that DOESN'T relocate the tail light. I currently have a Two brothers slip on exhaust as the only mod to the bike. Another piece that im looking for is a rear seat delete kit or a rear cowl cover kind of like the Hayabusas have but to match the ZX10R body style. Any help is much appreciated.

What is your opinion on the 2010 Ninja 1000 limited edition. I am recovering from a motorcycle accident looking to upgrade my 90 ninja 600d. This bike had 3 miles on it, They want 12010.00 out the door, licenced regestired,
    Good deal or no

I have a 2010 zx10r and its awesome mate its the last one of that Gen and I prefer it to the 2011/12 model, it loves the twistys very light my only dissapointment is the rear brake, its crap, they may aswell have not put one on. Agreed you dont use it much anyway but when that corner comes a little quicker than expected and you need to dab at it youd hope youd get a response better than whats given.

Im in UK and the deal I got here was last July, I got an 2010 zx10r FAF limited Ed registered with an 2011 reg plate 5miles on the clock with a M4 Gp exhaust and a full tank of fuel, 18month Warranty and 12month breakdown cover all for £8295.00
I traded in an '03 ZX636 which they gave me more than i was selling it for in a private auction and then I paid the difference in cash.

Great bike, i commute daily on it and been all over europe to WSB meets. sore arse after 3-4hrs riding but great ride, i can put up with it.

When i reach 25,000miles il will trade in and unless they change the new zx10 dramatically in 2013 then i will just get this 2010 model again but with lower mileage. Its that good.

That year Z doesn't use O2 sensors, so it's more of a closed loop fuel system. I'd recommend spending the money for a single dyno run, they will install a fuel/air sensor to measure. My guess is your bike will be running very rich because of the altitude. But a simple dyno run will be an easy way to "verify" the running condition and mixture...

Wow this thread is dead. Sad to see. I just stumbled upon an 86 1000R. Beautiful bike. Big improvement over my 89 600R.
