Hi All,
New to list... just picked up 86 Ninja 1000R... wrote mine off 15 years ago (stupidity & Adrenaline)... "it was faster then I was smarter". Never lost the itch and wanted the same bike again.
anyhow, been having a problem with RPM's dropping, power loss, and "explosive" backfiring... no regularity other then seems to be on acceleration... 1 -2 minutes then clears and runs great... changed filters, plugs, clean fuel, etc. and still occuring... any suggestions / thoughts ??

either the choke is stuck, pilot screws need adjusted, clean and adjust carbs, pilot screws should be aprox. 2 turns out, check choke cable make sure slide and plunger are working properly.

Hello All,
I'm new to biking again. I recently bought a 1989 ZX10 and need the front bodywork for it. I haven't found anything for it as of yet. Any ideas what else will fit it or where to buy bodywork for it?

Thanks

Sorry for taking so long to reply. My insurance is with Liberty Mutual. My premium only went up 100 bucks from my 500r, it is $390 a year now. I found Geico and Progressive to be extreme on the high side..

Default I love my zx-10

Lots of people complain about the head shake, never had to deal with any of that and ive come out of plenty a tight turn with only one wheel on the ground next , people say it has to much power but i say most of us from the good to the great cant squeeze everything a 600cc sportbike has, so, even if it did have to much power whatever that means , i dont think most riders would ever get to see it , i have a 05-zx10 ( the one thats still faster than the new gsxr1000 )give or take a mph, and ,i love it so if you want one get one. but in all honesty there is no use for a 1000cc bike unless you just want one,or go to the track every month .

keep the sticky side down Agent

Hi,

Do you have full coverage. I just got Liability only from Geico on my 06 ZX10R for $185.00 per year.

Hi All,
I'm new to the ZX10 pages. I just upgraded from an EX500. I was scared that I'd find the limit of the 500 and pass it. I doubt I'll be having that that trouble with the ZX10. I am very happy with the performance of the bike, but would like to make some light mods. Any suggestions?

Yup, I have full coverage the nice thing is after about a year of coverage on my 500 they lowered the premium. I have also been established with them for awhile so that is also a factor. Liberty Mutual is great to deal with. Call and see if they can help you out.

What about the ZX-14. Was wondering what oil is recommended. I am at the 600 mile service mark and haven't gotten an owners manual(dealer ordered it when I picked up the bike) yet.

I am also a bigger guy 6'4" and I own an 06' ZX-14. It is a great bike as far as comfort level goes. Fairly upright position when you want it. I put close to 200 miles on it the other day and accept for not being use to it I wasn't sore or dying to get out of the saddle. I would say I didn't lose anything as far as comfort goes compared to the 04 vulcan 1600 I traded for it.
