i love mine it is an 03 zrx1200 color is blue... fast and fun...
Got a 93 ZX-11D with a problem. The oil light comes on at idle. As soon as you pick up the throttle it goes out, above 1200 rpm. It doesn't do it when it's cold only after it warms up. Yes, it's full of oil up to the upper line. I'm thinking maybe a clog in an oil line or a worn out oil pump? It's got 21,000 miles on it. Any ideas?
Worn parts, less oil pressure...heavier oil maybe. You don't say what weight you're using. Heat expands parts causing more of a gap between those parts.
jbsmd....I'm using Silkolene 20W/50 semi synthetic oil. Been using semi synthetic since break in.
zedx11....Someone suggested that to me but I didn't hold to much faith in that person. Now hearing it for the second time I probably should look into that. Is there a way to test the sending unit? or is it a cheap part?
I don't know the price but I don't think it was that much.
you can get a ballpark price from places like bikebandit.
I think it's cheap enough that you won't need to test the old one.
bike bandit part number and price.

Did you ever get to the bottom of the oil pressure prob? Was it low idle speed not sending enough pressure or sending unit needing more pressure to deactivate the light? Just courious
Does anyone know if a Laser Pro D'or is a good exhaust for a 1992 C3 ZZR1100. Or any better ones out there? Thanks

Sorry for the long delay, I didn't recieve any e-mail responses from here so...
Anyway....YES problem solved. I removed the switch and it was greese packed and filthy so before I bought a new one I cleaned it up and replaced it and WOW it worked. Thanks for the responses. OH and this is a California model and yes the RPM was running a little low (1,000) so I bumpped it up to 1,200 and it's running better now.![]()
