I just bought a set of those cheesy carbon fiber bar ends, but I can't get the original ends off the bike. The screw is so tight that it just starts to strip when I turn it. How the heck am I supposed to get them off? Its a ZZR 600 and the ends are attached with a phillips head screw.

most people don't realize it, but the philips head screw actually has several standard sizes. Screwdrivers are made to fit exactly, which makes the job much easier. However, the way the screws are you usally can use either a too big or too small driver and get the job done, you might just mess up the screw head. Those bar ends are lilkey locktited on, so you are going to need the right size bit, and I would use a ratchet to get the torque you need to break the locktite.

Stupid stupid stupid bar ends!!!! I didn't even want them, why did I buy them? I think you're right virtualkuz, they must have Loctite on them. I got so frustrated I almost kicked my bike, then I thought better of it and kicked my car instead.
