I am not an expert on bikes, but I know with car engines, overfilling the oil is one of the worst things you can do. You can screw up the piston rings, the cat, and more. I always slightly underfill my car, and have been doing the same with my bike. If it starts to get low, you can always add more, it is certainly easier than trying to drain just some.

Default Longer mirrors for the 05-06 ZX-6R

I posted this in another thread, but thought I should put it here also since this one is sticky.

http://www.cooleywire.com/jimmyh/pics/mirror.html

These mirrors are awesome. NO vibration. Complete view behind you. And they cost less than $60 shipped. However, they dont fold, and a little modification to the fairing bracket is required. Very simple though.

I'm going on reserve at 185 miles. I got 60 mpg when a was just cruzin a tank out. 50 to 55 avg.

Great job Jimmy! Looks good. I wish I did not have to mod anything alter the look of my bike too much. If it weren't for that, I would do this. I just tuck my elbows in and look or turn regardless...I do see alot of elbow but I have my method that for some reason works really well. Great write up and thanks for giving everyone options. A more expensive way is to make one but then you would need someone to do the mold, etc.

I was so close to getting the hot bodies exhaust for my 06, but I have seen/heard of too many of them melting...not something I want to deal with.

Yep, got my highmount red Micron exhaust today! Geez that thing will look awesome on my bike...I am going to a ceramic coater tomorrow to coat all the mounting and brackets black tomorrow. This will keep my black/ red theme and make the Micron look that much better. I can't wait!

I beleive it does as that bike eventually became their sport touring bike.

they should. It's the same bike just with different badging and handlebar risers.

Hello All,

Have been posting in another thread, but since my 93' zx600c is close to road readiness, thought that I would ask a question about the front wheel mounting. I removed the wheel and took it into a shop to have a new tire (120/80/16) mounted. In the process, I am putting new brake pads on it. Since I cannot remember exactly how the hub/axle spacer goes on, can you tell me if I got it on right? I installed it with the wider (lip) next to the fork. And how tight is all of this supposed to be? How freely should the wheel spin with the new brake pads, etc, installed? Thank you.

I have a couple of questions about my 01 zx6r. First off im feeling a hesitation when i give it full throttle in first the most and in 2nd also, if anyone can give me any advice or any knowledge on what that could be that would be great. Lastly i was thinking about going up 2 teeth in the rear and down 1 in the front. Im trying to pull it up but when i try to keep it up and try to throttle it in first my throttle sticks a lil, it even sticks when riding it cruising around, im sorry for such a long post but i was wondering if anyone can help me out with my problems and if i should even do the sprocket project cause ive been trying to get the stand ups good and they are really rusty since i just started to do them i dunno if the sprocket project will help. i appreciate the help if anyone can give me some advice.
