Hmmmm....I have not broken 200 degrees ever however, I live in the Bay Area where it is usually in the 60-70s during the summer except for the rare 80s and 90s. Is it very hot where you ride? Were you on the right gear? Higher RPMs will raise temp so keep that in mind...I go in 80+mph range for an hour or so straight and do not break 170 at times...Let me look at my temp tomorrow when I go to work in the morning...It is cooler but I ride 80+ straight for 20 minutes...I will tell you what my temp comes up while riding. Just post again on the sportbike section and I will respond so remind me...I am sure some of the other 636 riders will chime in as well.

It is usually mild temperature around here, but I noticed when the humudity is high and the temp is around 90 degrees, my temp will go up to about 190 and stay there. And if I stop at a traffic light or something it shoots up above 200 in no time at all. It rarely breaks 220, I think that is when my fan kicks on. On nice days (70-80 degrees) it does stay around 170-180.

Mine stays under 180 degrees on the highway even on hotter (95+) days normally, but in town she'll get up around 220 until the fan cools her off.

Yeah mine usually goes up to about 210 or so when I am in traffic but usually stays around 180 or so while I am cruising. I live near DC so there is a lot of stop and go so it is usually around 200 or above.
I went with the Akra slip on however I am not sure if I need to remove the baffler or whatever it is called. I think it came with it off already. |

Ok yesterday I did about 250 miles of riding with 2x 10 minute breaks...Highest I went was 192 degrees. Temp outside was about 70ish and windy.

So last summer i crashed my 1996 ZX9 but it wasnt bad at all. Some fairing damage and the pedal shifter broke. I picked the bike up and drove it home in second gear. It has sit all winter and i am trying to get everything back to perfect condition. The PROBLEM is i cannot shift into different gears. When i pull up on the shifter there is a clunking sound and it sounds like something is hitting something else inside the transmission. I did not drop it hard or anything so does anyone know what i could check or what it could be? I have already messed with the linkage and nothing will work. I really need help. Thanks

I'm pretty new to the thread, want to say hello to eveyone first. Found the topics I've read since very interesting and helpful.
Do need some recommendations on a rear seat cowl (brand, price & who carries them) for an '06 ZZR 600 (Galaxy Silver). Thanks in advance |

Still On The Kickstand
|
Ok so I got my '01 zx-6r this weekend. Idle is set at about 1300. I noticed that after revving it up a little the rpms stay up a little bit. Now is this just normal for the carbed engines or does anyone think i may need to get a carb sync done.
Any suggestions? |

Try adjusting the choke it should not be staying at high rpms after you rev it at all, i have the same bike man and that never happens with me. It might not be anything serious it could just be that your choke needs to be adjusted and you can do that yourself.

Its pretty comfortable i like it but i wish i had an 03 and or any year above cause i like there styles better but if you want something comfortable then the zzr is good but its the same as the 99-02 zx6r.
